Ha ha good try! Whats in your garage!? This may not be confined to Porsches, but might apply to any car, which is better than the one, in which the person giving it large in the gob department is sitting.
It probably just comes down to jealousy, and a sense of inferiority / non achievement which might arise when `some' such people see others in a better car than they have. (Probably a labour supporter, as they just hate it, when they see someone who has done well for them selves)

Can't say people treat Porsche owners much different in general. Except on the motorway, it's like the parting of the red sea, people tend to move over when your behind them. You won't have experienced this in yours though I expect. But it's polar opposite to what you're describing.

Can't say people treat Porsche owners much different in general. Except on the motorway, it's like the parting of the red sea, people tend to move over when your behind them. You won't have experienced this in yours though I expect. But it's polar opposite to what you're describing.

I was out for a drive in the Monaro last week when I overtook a "sport van". Sunny day, dead straight piece of road, nothing in front of him, nothing coming the other way. Overtook and thought nothing more of it. At the next roundabout he was stuck right on my back bumper and I could see him jumping up and down, mouthing obscenities, and waving his arms. He was incensed! I was a bit bemused and afraid so I went back the way I'd come and left him to it. It would seem that where one gets an individual, who wants to mouth off and give rude gestures at another individual who just happens to be in `any' car which is better than the person who is doing the gob work, it says much more about the inferiority (perceived or actual) of the person doing all the gob work, than the person who happens to be in the nicer vehicle.
I tend to try an not let 4x4s out because I then usually can't see anything past the big f****** monstronsity. I don't go out of my to do it, an if required I will let them out. Why the hell do people with big cars then position their car toward the middle of the road so you can't see anything unless you drop several miles back.

I generally get a positive reaction in the Maserati, waves, thumbs up, people wanting me to floor it, the only negative reaction I have seen was a a middle aged woman in a battered old Peugeot who shook her head at me while was waiting at a junction.It probably just comes down to jealousy, and a sense of inferiority / non achievement which might arise when `some' such people see others in a better car than they have. My wife has commented that people don't let her out of junctions and are generally less friendly towards her when she drives our XC90 compared to the people carrier we had before so I think some people just don't like SUVs.

Yes, I think there is a practical reason why people tend not to let SUV`s / people carrier type vehicles etc, regardless of the make, out in front of them, in that if they do, they just present a large expanse of boring metal to look at, instead of a view of the road ahead. Also many such vehicles are generally not as quite as quick off the mark as a normal saloon, which means there is the potential for these vehicles to impede the progress, of those behind. (even if it is just that they block the view ahead so comprehensively, they also reduce the possibility of checking the road ahead for a safe overtake.

My Disco does 60 in 8.8 sec and will do it in 7 sec with a remap. Most people in 4x4s cannot be bothered to drive them fast as it makes you feel sick to do so.

Nah. The general impression is that they look old, cheap and weird.I think they're ace, but they don't look 'money' to the average bloke.
They even managed to get on the seriously uncool board, on TG, and the despite the fact that the small number of cars ahead of the Caterham on the powerlap board (with its 1 minute 17 second lap time) were generally foreign made, multi thousand pound supercars or hypercars, the presenters still
