Hi

So I bought my car at the end of FEB. The dealer (shoddy man) told me he sent it off in the first week of March. I haven't received anything as of yet in the post and I am currently filling out the DVLA form to get a new one sent to me. I have the new keepers supplement but should be ok.

My concern is, is 2 and a bit months quite a long time to be without a V5? What if I have racked up any tickets/fines etc, where will they be sent to? What can I do about them? I know for certain that I have forgotten to pay the dart charge once but never heard a ticket. I assumed this was because I paid it the day after?

It's a bit of confusion to be honest for me. I've spoken to the dealer who keeps saying he posted it off but Im still wary.

Eh ?

Do you mean you've just bought the car and the dealer didn't have a V5 because he sent it off at the beginning of March for some reason ?

Sounds like it came from a "only got the green slip because it's a px innit" type "dealer"

I've been waiting 6 weeks since purchase for my V5.

Last week I received a st-o-gram about not returning the v5 when I sold my last car (5 weeks ago). Even though it was posted the day after it sold.

If you've been done at all I'd imagine it would go to the previous owner/garage, who will then probably get in touch with you over it. So on that front I wouldn't worry too much about it.

My last two (bought within the last month) have arrived in 4 and 3 weeks respectively.

The one before that took forever (>6 weeks), so I filled in a form to get one sent to me. Then I had two turn up in the space of a couple of days after a total of about 9 weeks or so. Figures, I guess.

Woops sorry made a faff of that. I bought the car end of February!

Spoke to DVLA today who said the car IS now in my name but i've had no sign of the V5? Bit strange that it's almost 2 months on and nothing.

Regardless, will send off the V62 today

Royal Fail strike again

If you have the most recent green slip and a V62 you should see the replacement V5 in a couple of weeks assuming it doesn't get lost again!
