A Merc CL is probably quite nicr at this price level.

On a separate note I'm surprised (or rather disappointed) at the aggression shown towards OP for daring to define "cheap" as sub £10k. It's just a price point, and when a Ferrari 458 Italia looks a bargain next to a La Ferrari it's a line that has to be drawn somewhere to enable a sensible discussion. Try not to take it as a personal attack on your spending power.

+1 on the MR2, my old mk2 felt special simply because there wasn't (and still isn't) much chance of me getting into an exotic italian 2 seater, and when your mates are driving fiestas and corsas, or even using public transport, the little MR2 becomes very cool indeed.

Ten grand certainly isn't 'cheap' in my book.

Around £5k is a good entry point to interesting cars smile This is what I got with our £5k

I recently bought an X5 for the same money.

If only I was a little bit braver lol

Knackered, well I say knackered, scruffy but relatively sound and low mileage Alfa Romeo 156 2.4 10V.

Feels really special for a sub £600 shed, the damn thing has convinced me it needs a few extras!

Bentley Turbo R

Yes it's probably financial suicide but I'd love to waft around in one until my bank manager confiscated it, and probably my house.

Or if you want to save some money import a RWD Skyline... have £3k left for more power/more polish depending on your desire

But if we are allowed a ten grand budget, then how about a super rare 3.2 V6 GTV?

I sold one about three years ago with 20,000 miles for £9500.

From the driver's seat it felt and sounded incredibly exotic. It didn't look too bad either.

That's messing with my head.

Is the front end on that GTV some kind of facelift, or has someone grafted on a newer shape grille etc?

I've never seen a GTV with that front end before.

2003 face lift iirc (Phase 3 / "ph3").

That car must be seriously rare, I've never seen one!

There is so much right with that car but I couldn't live with that front end. It looks like a budgerigar.
