... to a couple of coppers.

I think the police were stretching the issue somewhat, but it's amusing to see the "I'm going to police the roads" headcam/dashcam-mentality come up against the police hehe

I know, I know, "not this sh*t again" etc.

Looks like Melville Dr in Edinburgh and I'm sure that has a timed bus lane.

I wonder what time it was?

Police didn't mention it was out of timed hours but seems odd they sit in it with a dozen or so other cars if it wasn't. Either way, cyclist sounds like a self righteous muppet so I'm not siding with him

Looks like you're right.

Streetview-sleuthing suggests it's 7.30-9.30am and 4-6.30pm.

The crux of this is the time.

If the bus lane was in operation at that time NO cars should have been in it, that is the whole point of having a bus lane surely?

Cyclist was a prat though, idiots like this give genuine cyclists a bad name.

The PC should have rammed the camera up the cyclist's censored....on camera.

Yes. These semi-regular cycling threads usually go the same way, and what I quoted were examples of the sort of thing you always see. And that goes for my own comment too, which is why I included it.

I probably should have left it at just the one comment, if that, but - well, this is the internet.

I appear to be against the flow but I agree with the cyclist in this case. Yes he clearly wanted to make a point to the coppers but they could have handled it better, ideally by just ignoring him.
