Even if he was right he's being a colossal .

Given the traffic in that lane I would not be surprised if it was out-with the designated times for the bus lane. I've driven that exact road a few times and most people tend to err on the side of caution with bus lanes there from what I can remember.

I couldn't understand a word that either of them were saying. Just some high pitch warbling.

Do you even read what you're quoting?
Yes. These semi-regular cycling threads usually go the same way, and what I quoted were examples of the sort of thing you always see. And that goes for my own comment too, which is why I included it.

I probably should have left it at just the one comment, if that, but - well, this is the internet.
So what in IroningMan's posted link involved a cyclist?

Also, this ultimately is not a thread about a cyclist; it is about the irony of a vigilante having a pop at the police.

I appear to be against the flow but I agree with the cyclist in this case. Yes he clearly wanted to make a point to the coppers but they could have handled it better, ideally by just ignoring him.
Not totally against the flow, if it was in the bus lane operation times I am totally with the cyclist and the bib failed their own attitude test big time. Another example of the police believing attack is the best form of defence.

Hardly.
There's a difference between expressing a specific opinion, and posting generalised, unsubstantiated abuse.

My bikes are insured. I don't have number plates on them as there is no legal requirement to do so.

That's more than can be said for a lot of vehicles I see. I was also hit by an uninsured driver in his Vectra a few years ago. I'm yet to be hit by an uninsured cyclist.

Seriously though, we can't make a judgement either way without knowing the time of the video.

If it was during bus lane operational times, (0730-0930 and 1600-1830 iirc) fair enough for noising up the police.

If it was outside the times, then the cyclist is a tt.

Got say I'm amused by the coppers sort of admitting that they're messing with him because he rattled their window as he gets more and more wound up about being held back.

I'm not regular on Melville Drive within the active bus lane times but elsewhere in the city they is plenty apathy (and I'm one of them) to the active period of certain bus lanes because if they weren't ignored to a certain point traffic would be much worse.

On the other hand there are plenty of blind folk who cannae read the active/inactive times signs and leave perfectly usable road empty.

If the bus lane was active the cyclist had a point but I really hate that whiny militant attitude. Pretty sure there is also plenty off road cycling space in that area also.
