Mk2 Clio V6, always wanted one from seeing the Mk1 when I was about 15 but never thought I'd own one.
Managed to get my hands in a Blue one like the press cars when I was 20 and all my mates were driving round in corsa's and Saxo's whilst I had my dream car
Insurance must have been crazy!?Managed to get my hands in a Blue one like the press cars when I was 20 and all my mates were driving round in corsa's and Saxo's whilst I had my dream car
Lancia Integrale Evo daily driver for 6 years - best B road blatter ever. Every time you sat in it was an occasion, every time you filled up there was an appreciative audience. An average 10 MPG through Wales has never been so much fun The lovely distinctive noise of the engine with balancer belts smoothing everything to a lovely warm whine. Sitting in traffic with a heat haze from the bonnet vents. The tick tick noise as it cooled after a long run. oh and it never let me down
So far my FN2 must be pretty much up there.
My DC2 was one of the best I've had to drive all things considered.
MR2 Turbo, 350Z, Eunos RS-LTD, all awesome as well.
Enjoyed my E36 & E46 328 Coupes a lot, the Clio Sports were fun when they worked, Puma punched above its weight and Mk2 Golf GTI was a howl.
FN2 gets slagged off but its got the same DNA as all Type-Rs, its hilarious on a hoon, but its got cruise, climate, folding mirrors, recaros, and unique looks (love em or hate em). Same great gearshift, engine, handling but easy to live with. Best all rounder I've had yet and still one of the most enjoyable cars I've owned despite the practicality. I don't feel like I'm short changed, its an absolute hoot when called for.

A bit left field but out of a lot of cars some better than others the best would be a BMW 318Ti which I had for years took to Germany and it held it's own in the slow lane of the autobhahn, bullet proof engine, and if you fail to change the rear tyres it was a hoot to drive around corners.
1981 Fiesta Pop + 957cc with XR2 alloys, 4 Cibie super oscars and an RS twin rear spoiler. Bright red.
Sounds daft now, but it was "best" because of the freedom it gave me (first car), the places I went (lived in France) and the time of my life. Sold it at 188,000 miles (never broke down) to a mate.
I'd have it back in a heartbeat. I wouldn't drive it though.

My current Z4 Coupe.
Because it has a naturally-aspirated straight 6 engine and RWD and the first time I saw one I really wanted to own one some day. Last June that day arrived (after about 8 years)!
It is also the first 2-seater I have owned, and the quickest car I have owned (probably should have started there)!
But if/when I replace it whatever I get may become the best car I have had (no plans yet though)!

Alpina B10 3.3 manual, my current squeeze.
The more I drive it, the better it gets. It's BMW's possibly best all-round '5' (E39) polished, magnified, perfected. It is easy to lope around in 5th from 800rpm everywhere; also impossibly smooth and refined at speed; power sufficient from cracking, bespoke & willing engine; properly flows down an A-road at ludicrous speeds like a dream - and then totally shrinks around you & rewards the effort with poise and utter, utter precision if you take it by the scruff of the neck and drive it. Staggering breadth of ability, frankly, why spend more?
Oh, and it looks like another old silver 5series so gets zero attention. I love that, too.

Easy! First car, 306 d turbo. Absolutely unbreakable, and believe me I tried! Bought with 155k on it, it spent the next 50,000 miles being thrashed mercilessly all over the north Wales countryside! An absolute blast to drive as you could drive it flat out pretty much everywhere, (being 17 may have had something to do with that!) Crashed it, spun it, drove it through mud, snow, water, everything. Did many years Faithfull service to me and all my mates!
Saw it a few years after I sold it, it had mysteriously lost 75,000 miles...

My most nostalgic car would be my first Mk5 Cortina. It had a black vinyl roof and the biggest sun roof I have ever seen fitted. I used to lay in the car looking out at the starts with my girlfriends, worked every time
Best car tough was my old ST205 Celica GT4, 340bhp (very lightly tuned)comfortable, great handling and totally reliable. Want another one.
