Geoff Palmer used to run an old Pacific F1 car at RMA track days quite frequently. It too may have been a 'dog' in F1 terms, but nothing comes even half way close to performance or thrill to an F1 on a track day.

Timing is, or course, strictly forbidden on track days, but having seen Geoff lap even tuned F40s and 911 GT2 every four laps gives an impression of pace.

One time at Donnington Park *someone* was *allegedly* timing cars going round. Right at the end of the session we all agreed to finished 20 mins early so Geoff could do a proper full speed lap. Using the national circuit, and even with a standing start from the pit lane, he was over 15 seconds faster than anything else that had been seen that day....and RMA days have every form of exotica there.
Could it have been Geoff Farmer? He ran a 1995 Pacific in BOSS many years ago. In fact, at the time, I belive it was the only semi-auto equipped F1 car racing in private hands. I remember the gearbox going pop as he emerged from Cascades during BOSS qualifying at Oulton Park in maybe 1998. Will need to check my programme archive for certainty.
