I've seen a VE Camper with registration GAY51N, that wasn't theirs, was it?
I think you were mistaken, that's not registered to anything, and dvla are very careful to not issue potentially offensive plates like that
It must have been a display only plate, then, the vehicle was off public roads when I saw it (at a car show).

Maybe people feel the need to celebrate that they don't need to feel ashamed of who they are anymore.

I'm a poofter and can generally be found at the wheel of a Golf R, Triumph Stag, or a big yellow Jensen.

No personalised plates on anything.

I must be doing it all wrong biglaugh

I don't think its something that's particularly unique to us gays. I've seen plenty of cars with 'interesting' number plates. Some people just want the world to know how much of a c**k they are before we're given the 'pleasure' of meeting them smile

Big, yellow, loud? You're ticking most of the boxes, may as well get a plate on it.
Gorgeous car though thumbup

I have to say i've never noticed this fad, there's a distinct lack of extroverted homosexuals round these parts, I can't remember the last time I saw a gay couple holding hands even frown

A sausage enthusiast friend of mine has a MINI GP. The straightest version of a gay car I suppose? It does have a vanity plate though just to remind everyone of his gender of choice.

Anyone notice how nearly all of these gay gentlemen drive VWs or Audi's?

They all seem to love a bit of VAG.

I personally share Stewart Lee's view on PC, which is that it's a very good thing indeed. I also share Stewart Lee's view that it's very tedious having to carefully qualify a lot of what you say so that you won't be wilfully misinterpreted/ misrepresented by SJWs/ the easily offended.
But you can't have an electric fire in the bath any more, can you, in case the gays see it.

As with all groups of people, you get a variety of stereotypes and individuals within it. I'm gay and find myself eye-rolling at some of the more extravagant personalities I've met, but each to their own.
I always think of Happy Endings when people bring out 'extravagant' gay guys.

Penny 'I want a gay friend'
Max 'What? I'm your gay friend'
Penny 'your just a straight guy who has sex with dudes, I want a proper gay friend'
Max 'you mean an offensively cliché gay guy? Ill introduce you...'

Damn I miss that show.
