A waste of a good engine - this is a remarkably ugly car, this sector of cars seems to score points with buyers for how vulgar they look, so I am sure it will sell well.

It's like the designers were so pissed at having to do the outside that they downed tools and went to the nearest pub, leaving the work experience kid to design the interior.

I think I could consider myself a so called "enthusiast".
I drive a sporty cabriolet.
I kinda hated the BMW X6, Audi Q7.
Yet, I probably don't have the same eyes as anyone here.
This thing, however huge or inappropriate on most roads could it be, looks ... gorgeous.
And will be an enormous success.

"What shape would you like your Mercedes sir?"

Jokes aside this thing is just so crackers that part of me wants to like it. Bit late to the party though aren't they?

An object lesson in how to give a vehicle with 585hp a power to weight ratio of 248hp/tonne. Pointless yet popular.

I look forward to the standard ML version.

I think those are very underrated cars.

In years to come we'll look back at this SUV fashion and wonder what planet people were on. It's as naff as the German tuning kits of the 1980s.

Not my sort of car, but a well written and enjoyable article.

PH, this is so much better than the re-hashed PR bumf, with added spelling and grammatical errors, so often punted out here in the name of news/articles - please give Dale more assignments smile

I also drove the new ML, which is now called the GLE. It's almost the same as an old ML, but it has the knock-off iPad on the dash and is even smooooother. This was a far superior offering to the Coupe and could be specced with muddy-stuff too. Expect some words on here soon!

EDIT: Consensus appears to be that the GLE Coooop an awful crime against taste and decency, ergo, is bound to sell well in certain Home Counties, Cheshire and Premiership football locales?

There's a bit of Freudian analysis to be done here. Pick it up and run with it, please.
