Need to move my car on but it needs work, is it worth it

Need to move my car on as I have a company car, but it needs some work, two bits of body work (fairly chunky scrapes) and the diesel particulate filter needs replacing. All told I reckon its a couple of grand to bring it up to scratch.

Question is, is it worth it or given it'll be fixed and then sold straight away should I just flog it off warts and all. It's a 325d BMW, 57 plate with 125K on it so at best it'd be worth £4ish in good nick I'd think...

Any thoughts welcome (I could be tempted to trade in for something fun if that makes any difference) as I'm not so wise on the dark arts of the motor trade :-)
