Swap for an R8 ??
Discussion
It has a bit more status than a Cayman, which I agree is quite sad, but there is something about the 911 turbo whereby you dont justify it, and with the cayman..... You kinda do. All irrelevant now I guess as sold the turbo today, please dont give me a massive kicking, its only my opinion :-)
Slightly off topic, as I have now bought the R8, but does anyone know if/how these cars have the dipping near side mirror on selecting reverse ?? Had it on 2 previous cars and kinda got used to it. Not a problem if its not, but was thinking it could be a software update etc. Anybody have this feature ??

Not on mine, they do fold up though. They also dont have the compass in the rear view mirror (in case you were reading the manual and spent 30 minutes trying to switch it on as per the manual )

Thanks on both counts, I did read the manual but did'nt bother trying to find the compass as it has nav, so could not see its value. However, I cant find the tyre pressure reset malarky in the computer, so am guessing its not fitted to this car ? And yes, the V10 does not have dipping mirror on the nearside, which is a bit of an oversight on such a car. Liking it so far, even get over 20 mpg trundling to work and back, but that drops very sharply when you step on it a bit :-)They also dont have the compass in the rear view mirror (in case you were reading the manual and spent 30 minutes trying to switch it on as per the manual )
Cheers Hughesie, I will drop another line when my next set of questions come up, all pretty straight forward so far though, although I had to dig around on the forums to find out the Nav disk is locked in to prevent theft ?? Bonkers !! If someone breaks in to my car, the last thing that will concern me is a 2 quid DVD missing....

probably locked in so it can't be copied or sold on. Audi protecting an expensive option that would be easy to sidestep...
I have found out it is locked in to theft protect it, just wish the dealer had told me so I didn't try putting disk 2 in while disk one was still spinning, now disk 2 has minor scratches, but thankfully, still works. :-)Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
