Following on from the Convertibles thread, there are several posts talking about 'girly' convertibles.
Which are these then?

I assume nobody on PH would argue that a Nissan Micra CC was a bit girly (well, alot to be honest, at least to my mind), and absoluitely a Diahatsu Copen.

What others? I've heard people say an S2000 is, but that was pretty hardcore when I had one. Mercedes SLK?

What about an open Jeep Wrangler?

I have an XKR Convertible. Is that girly?

There's no such thing - they only exist in the minds of the some in-duh-viduals :-)

It's a state of mind - its only girly, if it's a girl driving it.

I used to joke that the only way a bloke can get away with driving a convertible without pretending it's the wife's is in an old V8 Volante.
Panama hat is optional. smile

I wanted the missus to get a convertible, she said no and got the coupe version.
Does this throw your mind in to a spin?

There aren't many decent convertible driver's cars which derived from front drive four seaters, so that might be a starting point.

Convertibles aren't really what girly girls want anymore, a white Evoque is more like it.

I never knew what that was! I stumbled upon it once.

All I remember is 'orange spunk'.

Scarred me for life.

I do worry about the Honda S2000 being a borderline case on occasion but then think, stuff them, I like it and know it's a petrolhead's car.

SAAB made convertibles that Men could drive without looking the opposite of manly.
There are't many/any modern cars that I can think of?

I kind of know what you mean. Lets face it, I am the architypal middle age baldy beardy convertible driver, and any good looking woman is going to make the car look better than I do (and the majority of not so good looking ones too I would imagine. Not my next door neigbour though. Her beard is longer than mine). But does that make it a girly car?

Street KA convertible
Micra (as mentioned above)
Folding-tin-top French cars (as mentioned above)

All the Merc SLs are uni-sex... even Suzanne Boyle could pull that off
