Mini GP wheel refinishing--- Rimfurbish or Pristine?
Discussion
Anyone have any feedback on the above two companies?
They seem to be the only two out there that properly degass and prep the wheel surface before and after the diamond cut process.
Rimfurbish are about £80 more expensive but say they offer a fully OEM finish as the wheels go down the same line as their brand new OEM manufacturer wheels and Team Dynamics wheels.
Pristine on the other hand are all done by hand.
Any reviews from anyone?

18 Diamond cut Mini GP wheels.
Rimfurb £86+Vat per wheel plus £20 each way delivery
Pristine £65+Vat per wheel inc pickup/delivery
Pristine will only do wheels though. Rimfurb will recieve my tyre delivery and fit/balance for me and return ready to fit.
Not entirely correct - Pristine will cope with alloys with tyres onRimfurb £86+Vat per wheel plus £20 each way delivery

When i called earlier he advised to send just the rims. Anywho, he was helpful and friendly.
Just got to decide who to send them to.
I think they prefer bare rims but I wanted an as new spare for a carJust got to decide who to send them to.
Bought a curbed wheel, got a new tyre fitted..... Then sent it to Pristine.
That way I knew a local tyre fitter would not undo their refurbishment work within days
That was about a fortnight ago
They will charge you for fitting and balancing though
Wheels are being collected by Pristine today.
Im really trying hard to keep the car as OEM as posslible, this includes the brushed alloy cut face. However im worried about the durability of the finish. Really unsure what to do with them now. I know all i need is the slightest dink in the clearcoat and the wheels will be ruined.

personally would never have diamond cut wheels ever again but,
ive used Pristine wheels (Kent?) and they did an amazing job on my old 997 Turbo wheels. They sorted the kurbing, shot blasted the wheels anthracite and then diamond cut the faces. I believe it was free collection or free delivery back to me too from what I remember, was a good few years ago.

Interesting, please update with the results. I went for brand new wheels in the end, and kept the old ones for winter running, as I just didn't think they could be refurbed back to a near new standard
Will keep an eye on this thread
I have had good results with Pristine Leins, to the extent I wouldn't bother with other places, although they may well be as good ( see further up thread )Will keep an eye on this thread
They did a diamond cut one for me and I can't tell the difference between a new factory wheel and their refurb. It's an anthracite 5-arm rotor with diamond cut tips

Thanks SM - good to know! Hopefully I can keep the new summer wheels in good condition, as don't fancy having to buy more, but this sound like it could be a good option when something inevitable happens themThey did a diamond cut one for me and I can't tell the difference between a new factory wheel and their refurb. Can I also throw these guys into the suggestion box please:-

They are very, very good. I also happen to know they do a great deal of warranty work for OEM's and are capable of performing a genuinely "as-new" job.
