It's been a while since I've had a TVR but if they ask me (HINT) I'll put 2.5g down

I have registered my interest on the TVR website, and not heard anything.. So how is this true?
Same here. It appears that registering on the website for updates doesn't do anything.
And same here.

You'd think they'd be in touch with those who registered an interest first?

Having had 6 TVRs in a row back in the day, 4 of them orders new, I'm really excited.

Crowd funded car, first thing that came into my head aswell.

This is what TVR are effectivly saying

"Can people give us 5k for us to have a bit of a budget to develop our new car, because frankly, we darent put any of our own money at risk, for a TVR. imagine that."

Crowd funding is just a stupid idea. ( Unless you are doing the crowd funding .... in which case it is brilliant )

If you are going to give a company that does not even have a product yet - a chunk of your money. You want shares in that company.
You want some ownership of the assets.

Giving them free working capital... It is for mugs.

Until you multiply 20-40 by £5k and realise it has absolutely nothing to do with funding but with stabilising initial production run volumes. rolleyesbiggrin

Yeah. And I'm not interested if there's not a diesel.

And/or stimulating a feeding frenzy if the thing lives up to its promises in looks and performance. They'll then be able to justify higher pricing and who knows, even control who they are willing to sell to in due course. If its refundable (barring another liquidation of course) I wouldn't mind speculating some spare cash even if I never actually took delivery of one. Back in the 90's I paid list for a 1 year old Chimaera because the waiting list for new was a year.

L thought tge official date for this not for another 6 days.
Then I expect some serious spec information.
That said, if I had the money I would seriously consider supporting.
Im on my sixth and very best TVR.

Absolutely. Everyone on here dissing what hasn't happened yet. Launch date on 7th July - so I'd
expect the new car(s) in either pre-production form or detailed sketches with specifications to break cover.
No one is going to lump on without this unless they need to lose money for tax purposes.

Briliant and so full of comedic value.

A British sports car company headed by a true Brit. What could possibly go wrong?

I'd buy another TVR. Not interested in being first in the line though, particularly with their history and more so without knowing anything about the car. I'd not want to spend more than c£70k on one. Fingers crossed.

I think this would be a good investment opportunity if you are Greek as you probably won't see your money again anyway eek

I too registered interest but heard not a smidgen... curse

I thought this group was supposed to be 'well funded'.....

At this stage, they would be wiser to accept deposits of a much smaller amount (e.g. £1000). More people would be willing to gamble that amount without seeing what they are getting.

Agree - lots of comments about asking for deposit with no further details, but launch date for details isn't even here yet!!!

Although you'd want more details before commiting the £2.5K deposit....

I wonder if the TVRCC discount might mean that there could be something more tangible than a web-picture to see at the forthcoming TVRCC 50th celebrations......??????
Where would be a better place to "reward TVRCC members" than the 50th celebration event??

Coincidence...???

I'm definitely excited at the prospect of a reborn TVR, sticking to it's "roots" in being a British company, promoting British talent and British engineering expertise (Murray, Cosworth etc), V8, manual, RWD, hopefully drop dead styling...???? What's not to like????? (don't mention reliability, build quality, etc - I've owned my Cerbera for 6 years!!!)

I'm seriously tempted to punt a speculative (hopefully returnable?) deposit as an early significant birthday pressie to myself......

Perhaps, but why would they give a date for when the books will be open for deposits without also mentioning that further details on the vehicle will be announced to coincide? Perhaps we're reading too much into it (not a surprise on a forum!), but it seems an odd way of going about things.

£1k deposit on unseen new TVR car - yes I'd do that...

£5k (or as I'm TVRCC member, £2.5k) - hmmm no sorry, I'll need a bit more info before committing that sum of cash for 2yrs.

Very keen to see more info & details though, and then yes I'll be prepared to show my cash...
