I wouldn't want to own one of the first ones anyway, give them a bit of time to sort the teething troubles out, which you will get with any new model from any car company

I don't think it's that unusual to be asking for deposits at this stage, and to me it doesn't signify anything good or bad. They might be trying to gauge demand, or the proportion of background noise to actual buyers. I am sure the extra money will help, but I don't imagine they are doing it because they need the cash injection though. Whoever said they might get 5000 buyers sticking £5k down each is smoking kilos of meth-laced crack!!!!

Yeh, it will take them 5 years to build that many

Well my deposits been accepted.

Said no one.

Not sure about the car club thing getting the lesser deposit option, I love my TVR, loved the brand since I was about 14 but I'll never be part of the bobble hat brigade.

The car club was one of the things I enjoyed the most about my ownership experience, meeting like minded people sharing a passion for the marque, great meets and convoys and I met some very nice people/friends along the way too.

A pity they're not building this...

Ok I know that this is PH and TVR's are sacrosanct on here but surely I can't be alone in thinking that looks a complete mess?

Never looked right to me, preferred the original angular project 12
It looks fantastic even for a copy

I must confess that I never really liked it. It's cracking as a race car and part of TVRs history. Should TVR build anything like this for the road? Absolutely not. I think it would be awful.

Purposeful, spectacular, aggressive...yes.

Pretty, attractive or a cohesive design...no.

I hope all you Sagaris owners are part of the TVR CC. Otherwise your contributions don't mean much!

Well, I've only owned TVRs for what, 18 years or so now, but sadly not a member of the TVRCC!!

i think there are a lot of owners who are not TVRCC members. I was when I owned one, but I know plenty who were not. I am not convinced that they represent the core of TVR enthusiasts.

But it's better to have the club than not to and it's good to see the new TVR taking the club seriously.

i'm not saying it's a bad idea. I enjoyed contributing when i was a member. I'm merely saying that new TVR shouldn't see the TVRCC as the single voice of the owners and fans.

And certainly not indicative of "support" for TVR.

Unless I missed this bit. So people are asking for a deposit for a car that they have no idea what the hell it will look like? Or are they having to sign some confidentiality agreement?

They're probably down at the Jaguar dealership buying an F-type which actually exists...

i've no doubt that some people are that excited that they'd drop a deposit regardless (not very many though, i'm sure); and i am sure new TVR are intending to target those people only at this stage.

I do hope that the residual negativity amongst many people tails off at some point soon though. I think that even when faced with a physical car, price list, spec sheet, brochure, dealers... there will be some that will still harrumph regardless of the content.

Some will remember the "deposits" put down on Jaguar's XJ220, which turned into an absolute shambles.

By the way, how many of those M600 things have Noble actually sold? scratchchin

I think they're making 10 a year. There was an interview with the boss in Evo magazine a few months back.
