Try a 90s 626 for a shed and tell me how amazed you are. 90 equivalent of a w123.

I take it you have either owned or had extensive driving experiance in a Mazda in order to form shch a strong opinion

But then having looked at your profile and garage , Have you seen a doctor regarding your memory lapse

I would have thought the Alfa 4C would be the MX-5 "equivalent".
That match up's not necessarily a win for Alfa either...

Mx5/Roadster vs. nothing = Mazda
Isn't the next GTV going to be a restyled Mazda? Surely that would make up for all other losses on Alfa's part?

Or did they decide that'd be an Abarth in the end?

Errm, are you being serious? Given the price, the construction.... the price?

Anyway....

Although a later story in the same magazine confirms the switch to Abarth

Gr8 b8 m8 rate 8/8!

Mazda have made some decent cars but most are pretty ordinary indeed.

I'd made reference to the price difference in subsequent posts. In the spirit of the thread, they're both 2-seater RWD cars (both convertible if you include the Spider).

The fact that you can buy 3 Mazdas for the price of one Alfa supports the argument that Mazda are better. biggrin

I had a MX5 in 2001-2003. Loved it and only got rid due to house buying and family requirements. With hindsight should have kept it as virtually gave it away.

Since then had a run of ordinary, Audi, Skoda, Ford and Volkswagen. Last year (still needing a family workhorse) picked up a new Mazda 6 estate.

1. They are not (as) mainstream.
2. They're fun to drive.
3. They just work. All the others have had niggly faults (except for the Ford which needed to be AA recovered 3 times in its first 3 years).
