Anyone have any idea what these are...

Hi all, these little black boxes have appeared on top of the three gantries on the M56 J7>J6.

Anyone have any idea what they are? Cant get a good look at them driving past.



Also, I'm sort of new, had an account a while ago but cant get in the email.

I thought maybe the same but they are on 3 consecutive gantries. Just seeing if I can get a pic off my dash cam for the others

They are OCXCs.
Outer Clothing X-Ray Cameras.
Not a new invention, but only recently applied to roads so the control room can see male and female underwear

Lol, being honest, that's my route to work, so I barely do 60, never rush into work . Just curious as to what they are, especially since they just appeared.

On the subject of cameras - I've noticed new poles with an orange lens have appeared next to existing Gatso's - any idea what they are?

They're small matrix signs. They do speed and the dreaded red cross. Nothing too sinister.

I think he means the black box above the matrix signs.

Tried to look at these again today. Can't really offer any more really apart from the first set of boxes are black with black glass on the front.

Hadecs are up on the M1 between J27 and J25. They are on an extra triangular frame at the side of the existing managed speed signs. There are currently 2 southbound and 1 northbound.
