I am currently sitting in the car aboard the Eurotunnel.

I will put up a proper post a bit later, where I will disclose some even more ineptitude and lack of planning on my own behalf.

Sufficed to say that three unbelievably kind and helpful people have put time and effort into helping a complete stranger and I cannot begin to thank them enogh.

Piston heads has quite literally saved the day

Good work to everyone involved.

Op - lesson learned about the AA cover regardless of how it was said.


I was stuck in France once with no alternator. Found a (British) guy in a pick up who charged my battery and a guy in a Bmw (also British) who offered blankets and hot drinks! smile

It's a bonus for bmw drivers. They make them weak....

Take the wheel into BMW, they had cracking issues with the 19s so you may be able to get it replaced by them.

Amazing to see random strangers on the internet helping each other like that.
