said to my GF triumphantly, “we’re going home”
A cracking story, and a real credit to the PH forum. However, I'm going to suggest that there wasn't the hugest amount of "triumph" to be had from a bunch of other people solving the problem for you... Perhaps "relief" might be closer to the truth?
My bold in your quote.

Something you clearly aren't if that's your response.

Seriously, why do some people like you insist on sucking the goodness out of everything?

Sideways across a disabled bay! One for the bad parking thread?
Or maybe for the "perfectly normal parking" thread in the BMW forum wink

Good work guys, great to see people pulling together to help a fellow PHer.

What an excellent outcome! Well done to all involved.

OP - as well as ensuring you have appropriate European breakdown/recovery cover in the future might I also suggest you consider dispensing with the locking wheel nuts too? I have always found them to be a hassle, the locking keys get lost, don't get transferred when cars are sold, get over-tightened by tyre-fitting emporiums, keys/nuts get stripped/rounded etc. Admittedly I have never went to any of my cars throughout my driving history that have been sitting on bricks, and there could potentially be implications with your insurer in the event your wheels DO get stolen, but perhaps worth considering.

Bloody good thread! Well done chaps! We need more threads like this to promote the community spirit. This place can be so much more than just grumbling. Great stuff!
