Two new panels, possibly three if the sill is damaged, plus inspection time, a respray in notoriously-hard-to-match silver, plus QC, plus paperwork. The BS will need the car for a week, so you'll have to hire a replacement, plus deposit, plus Excess Protection. The bill will be two grand. Just phone your insurers, that's what they're there for.
At a minimum. Personally i would guess more along the lines of 3 grand. I managed to damage the quarter panel on my A4 and repair came to 2.5k albeit that was about 4-5 years ago. You have done sill door and panel.

A decent body shop will not charge a mere 500 quid. The rear panel "could" be filled smoothed and blended but that would not be a decent repair on a brand new car.

A new quarter panel on its own is probably going to be itro 200-250. Old panel will need to be cut off and new one welded in place and painted and blended. Door may just need paint (unlikely) and sill the same.

Look online for a recommended bodyshop (some will not do private work) pop by and get a quote and then decide whether to go through your insurance. In fact find two bodyshops and get two quotes to see whether both shops recommend the same repair.

There is no sill damage, and as the OP stated, the door is only paint damaged.

I'm going to go somewhere in the middle... The sill looks OK, maybe a little scratch on the black section. The door skin is definitely more than paint, though, and that lower arch section is badly bent.

Sure, it could probably be done cheaply - bit of panel beating, and a wodge of Glenn Miller in there... But...
Newish Lexus... Is it leased? Even if not, what about keeping it within the bodywork warranty?

Having looked at photos again I tend to agree with you. Sill doesnt look like it needs anything. Door damage looks on reflection quite bad as the exterior panel has been creased and dented from internals.
If I remember rightly I had similar ish damage and my door was repaired not replaced.

The rear quarter panel cannot be repaired as it is damaged down a crease line which has been flattened. only option is cut out and repair as you wont be able to restore the crease to a high enough standard.

The main problem comes from the bodywork warranty as you mention. It may be that to preserve the warranty the door may need replacing as well as rear quarter panel.

contact your local dent doctor, mobile repair guy, its bread and butter to them.

dont claim as the insurance will take it back over the next year, and again the following etc.
Not a chance in Hell. That damage cannot and will not be repaired by a Dent Doctor, Mobile repair guy. That is pure and simple bodyshop.

Would be interested to see the quotes after this speculation. 3k now!

Im guessing you went back to main dealer for that one. I don't doubt it's quite a bit of work to sort nut there is a vast chasm between overpriced insurance approved bodyshops ans you local recommended and usually a better job bodyshop.

I properly pranged mine last September. It was my first ever accident in my 5 years of driving. Mine was undriveable and the car was jammed into the post and had to get winched out! I thought it was gonna be a write off having never done anything like this before. Looked properly nasty too.

Took 6 weeks to repair and ended up costing around 6k. I don't even think that was the total invoice including the hire car provided and etc but that's just the figure i saw. I didn't have much choice but to go through the insurance as i knew it would be at least around 3-4k and didn't have the funds to get this done myself.

My excess was about £400 i think and i knew the repairs would be way more than that. Sometime you've just gotta make your own judgement based on how much it will roughly cost and if you can afford to pay out of your own pocket. Surprisingly with me being 23 and living in Manchester it didn't actually shoot my insurance up as much as i thought. Still more than i want to be paying mind! Live and learn...
