Looking for a car

I want an estate (got two dogs) but want something reasonably powerful, and hopfully can tow a trailer/ motorbike too.
Looking second hand

Was thinking about a Rover 75 estate of all things, just because I like the shape and they seem quite reliable (Jaguar heritage, some have BMW engines etc) but am happy to be corrected.

Or possibly something else....

My budget is up to 2/ 2 and a half k

What would you recommend? Looking for something (reasonably) reliable..

Is the correct answer...but do do your due diligence prior to purchase - UKSaabs Forum's a good source.

I have had a few estates as I like to have one for shifting items, the dump runs and holidays in UK.

For over 2 years I have had a MGZT-T, V6 engine and 190bhp, so the sporty version of the Rover 75 you are thinking about.

I think it looks good in Trophy Blue and it drives well, it has been super reliable considering it's not my daily drive.

Very under rated car in my opinion.

You'd get a good V70 D5 for that. Euro III so no DPF to consider (not that it's a consideration in the real world, away from the nonsense on here). 163bhp won't set world records, but it's a staggeringly good engine, a genuine pleasure to operate. Plus, if you're feeling silly (and don't mind it going pop in about 5 minutes), I found recently a place online offering various remaps up to 240 horsepower!

Volvo V70 or a Saab 95, both are good choices, decent engines, good towing capability and plenty of space.

An MG ZT V6 190 thingy would do the job well too, I'd imagine, if you wanted something a bit rarer/more unusual.

What about the X Type estate, I think they make a good looking estate car much better than the saloon.

Yes , the forester is your friend for these requirements. 2.0xt should meet all your requirements and put a little smile on your face too.

So I'll give another vote to the Saab 9-5 estate.

Mine is great for my dog (dog guard and boot liner), has a tow bar fitted but best of all? Full electric heated leather, all the toys,, comfy and 275bhp/420nm of torque!! smile all for £1600.

Square looks means more carrying space which is why I want to sell my Jaguar X Type Estate and return to old Volvo ownership.
Anyone with such a Volvo for sale or want a Jaguar X Type Estate please take note.
