You'd be better off asking your lease company than random people on a forum.

If they're not happy for you to do it, but you do it anyway and they notice you've debadged it when it goes back then you'll be charged.

I know this is beyond some people but what is wrong with debadging the car and keeping the badges, which I guess will be held on with double sided tape.

When its time for the car to go back spend a bit of time putting new tape on the badges and stick them back on.
To be 100% correct measuring their positions before taking them off.

I asked BMW the other day if I could modify a lease and they said yes BUT only if it's BMW parts and the car must be returned to standard before handing over

This seems the most obvious answer...

I take it you mean taking off the 318i, 320d etc badges rather than taking off the propeller logo and sticking and replacing with AC or Alpina.

Not needed, the screwdriver marks in the paint will show where the badge was smile

Years ago in my company Astra Merit I found an unused GL badge under the boot trim (as well as another bonnet catch wedged on top of the headlight). Swapped the Merit badge for the GL one, you wouldn't believe the uproar that caused with other co car users thinking I had an upgrade.

Wouldn't want to encourage the OP to embarrass himself should he be challenged at a set of traffic lights.

People on here will make it seem like you're performing the crime of the century. Yes it's not your car but it's a no cost option from the factory. At the end either put them back on or just advise you requested it to be done before you received it. I don't think they'd even know.

Just remember though that if you do end up getting charged you'll probably just have to take it on the chin. Depends how extensive the lease company are for checking over the car. You'll never find out till the end of the agreement. I generally wouldn't worry as the charge would surely be minimum anyway.

P.S. I have debadged mine (SCIROCCO and TSI taken off).
