I'm hoping the Jag F-Pace is a roaring success so that they generate enough funds to build the CX-75. Just look at it!

Alfa Mito GTA, a serious restyle, and under the bonnet the 1750TB 235HP engine found in the Guilietta QV and 4C GTA

It would've eaten Fiesta STs, Clio RSs and polo/golf GTIs for breakfeast, and with 0-60 in 5 seconds, embarrassed quite a lot of sports cars as well. Given how much fun the 155hp mito was, i'd sell my left nut for one of these GTAs.

0-60 in 5 seconds? FWD with much less than 300bhp. Nope.

Was just going by what wikipedia lists, the same engine does 4.5/4.2 in the 4C GTA, so provided the front tires on the mito can put the power down, i'd be inclined to believe at least sub 6s

The most recent wish was the Nissan idx I really thought it was going to happen atcone stage I'm gutted.

Another wish was that ford when they had there ties with Mazda should have built a rwd coupe on the mx5 platform and styling cues to the mk1 escort.

And this Alfa GT concept

Lexus estate.

The kind of thing that you could buy when your first kid is born and is still chugging on when your last is packed off to university. I want Lexus to design/build a Volvo V70.
Or Volvo to go back to designing and building proper V70s?

On that note I sincerely wish Volvo had found it in themselves to fit the 3.2 SI6 or better still the 3.0 T6 to the 2nd generation C70. Or even the "proper" HPT T5 engine rather than the girly LPT 2.5 it got. Also the Yamaha 4.4 V8 into the V70 would have been smashing.

An Mx5 coupe with pretty much unusable seats shoehorned into the back.

That would tick ALL the checkboxes for me.
-cheap
-quick-ish
-reliable
-simple
-the once on a blue moon lunchtime trip down to the chippy I can laugh at my 20st 6'5 mate try (and fail) to get into the back of it, thus creating an excuse to use his car.

As a MiTo 155 owner I know that this car has some potential that was never realised but damn it, I forgot how wonderful a concept the GTA was. As long as it had a manual gearbox though (even the m32 is preferable to the tct in my book).

No chance. FWD has physics going against it for launch. Even the Ford Focus RS500 with 350BHP couldn't do much better than 5.9 seconds. Look at the Fiesta ST - it can do 6.9 seconds with 200BHP.

And I see a lot of people posting things that wouldn't make sense to the OEMs - a Mito GTA with the same powertrain as the Giulleta? That's hurting their own sales as it starts to encroach on the bigger brother's sales. They'd maybe get away with a 180BHP variant, but the company wouldn't go higher than that. Hurting your own sales by building two competing models is a big no-no.

The same argument could be used for most of the cars mentioned in this thread.

Generally FWD is ~0.5s slower than RWD which is 0.5s slower than AWD (to 60). So taking the Focus RS as an example the old FWD RS is ~6s, the new AWD version is ~5s.

I still kinda miss my first Mito (the 155), it was the first company car i'd picked out myself, and it broke my heart having to leave it behind switching jobs, even if it was uncomfortable for long trips, hooning about in it was unforgettable

This GTA model was proposed before the giulietta even launched, and having a GTA model being faster then a QV wouldnt be all that odd, the 147 GTA absolutely slaughtered the 145 QV it succeeded. If anything a mito GTA would have made the need for a giulietta GTA (with more then 4 cilinders!) clear.

And yeah, current top of the mito range is a 170hp QV version
