Good work sir, some lovely metal there. Suppose I really ought to have said why would anyone buy a modern Vauxhall.
Because 570bhp wink
Not a Vauxhall.

If I take a Merc badge and pin it on a Lada, it doesnt make it a Merc....
Then in that case, the only true Vauxhall is the British built Astra, all others are Opels, Chevrolets, Holdens etc, including this Viva

Not a Vauxhall fan at all, but whats the difference between this and any other small car like these?

All crushingly dull.
Because Vauxhall (and Clarkson).

I always wonder what the response to a Vauxhall/GM product would be with a BMW/Mercedes/VAG/etc badge would be.

The original Viva was a small cheap car for the undiscerning in the configuration of the time, rwd saloon and this is the modern version ?

It isnt a rehash at all, no styling cues or references other than the name that might ring a few bells with those later in life needing a small nondescript car that doesnt cost much to run, no point in putting pictures of Droop Snoot Firenzas, that is a life time away.

Who me ?

From memory, last totally UK Vauxhalls were made around the time of the Victor FD series. All Victors after that had the OPEL engine, rather than the tractor like Bedford engine, which just kept on going. it was one of the first overhead cam engines, with a lot of torque at low revs. The Viva of the day was a smaller version .I don't know what problems it had, but I had a neighbour with one which loved ignition coils. Could be that owner decided the coil was too sloppy in holder and used insulating tape to bulk it out.
