Most over-priced parts from a Dealership....ever?
Discussion
My Celica went to my local Toyota dealership for maintenence (the secondary air pump was needing replaced). Toyota's quote for the job was a head-shattering £1,800!
Labour for the job was quoted as 2-3 hours, so roughly £150. So they were asking £1,650 for the cost of the air pump. bks to that I said, I'll source one myself and send it to you for fitting. I found a good condition second-hand one online, for £80. Less than 1/20th of what Toyota were going to charge me.
Anyone else experienced any ridiculous prices from dealers for replacement parts?

Quoted £3000 plus labour to replace the front dampers on my Clio.
Clio Trophy? That's why they handle so well - very good dampers and I believe they were an option when the car was new. It's still an awful lot though!Anyway, I had them refurbished for a few hundred quid instead.
Just remembered another one...
Mazda 323F GT CV joints in the UK - £700
On a trip back to NZ to see family went to Mazda dealer and bought a pair for £32 each and brought them back in the suitcase.
Volvo MAF sensor - UK price around £200. US price in Volvo box from FCP Groton - £118 delivered.
