330ci sport auto.

I had a manual 330ci in SE trim previously to it and always thought the sports looked far better, and maybe the engine would be more suited to an auto 'box, so took the plunge.

What a mistake. The box was dim witted and also felt a lot slower than the manual and was far more thirsty. It went around corners well (but then so did the SE), but the sport suspension couldn't seem to make much sense of normal road surfaces and was constantly at odds with itself. It was a low mileage BMW approved car, so I'm assuming that's just how they are.

The novelty tiptronic option soon wore off after about half a day or so.

I kept it for a year, just so I didn't lose too much on it in a short space of time, and chopped it in for an E39 M5. I felt alive again.

1995 Honda Accord 2.0i (the Rover 600 type one). It was the entry level spec, which didn't help, but after coming from a Corolla GTi it felt dry. Defining moment was driving through Putney late one Friday evening and a couple of drunken revellers tried to get in the back when I stopped at the lights, thinking it was a mini cab. It was sold 2 weeks later.

Renault Modus 1.4 petrol.

Would always stall it getting off the drive. Very heavy for such a small car.

Slow. I pity anyone who had the miss fortune to own a 1.2. The 1.4 was slow enough. The smaller engined one must have been dangerous.

Probably the 2005 Vauxhall Corsa 1.2 I learned to drive in. Once you're not thinking about driving correctly anymore, you realise how ordinary it is.

I would have said the new 3-cylinder Kia Picanto that my Mum drives is more hateable than boring. It's such a loud and horrible car to suffer with, you don't get to be bored. Boredom is a mercy!

Personally I think my most boring car was the 200SX. It's not that far from the 350Z.
This just shows how different we all are and my S14a 200sx was the best fun and most enjoyable car I have owned and I would love a 350z although I know it would just feel a bit too lardy I think, I also found my E92 M3 very boring unless you were driving its backside off.

2004 Boxster. It was a great car, lovely engine sound, looked nice, comfortable, great hood but my God it was DULL.

I bought it with about 8K on the clock and sold it with just over 40K. Never ever again.

Anyone who tells you that these are great road cars has probably been brought up on hot hatches and MX5s. My Mrs called it the jelly on wheels as it was so dull.

My current car. Citroen C1 on lease.

My old car went pop needed something asap but didn't have enough cash to pay for a decent shed. It suited my needs at the time of lease but I stupidly went for a 4 year deal to keep the monthlys down frown

It has however given me a greater appreciation for the things you take for granted in cars these days like bolstered seats, electric windows you can control from the drivers side, and a large boot opening, and being able overtake easily.

As I walk to work now my next steed is going to be loud, fast and impracticable biggrin
Snap. I hate mine! No torque, stupid gear ratios, horrible steering and gear change. I've had some crap cars, but never before has the thought of driving a car filled me with dread!

It goes back in September and we've bought a Focus ST170 to replace it. The Citroen hasn't moved for 2 weeks now!

My first brand new company car : 1998 Mondeo 1.6 Aspen.

So slow it was bordering on dangerous, and I subsequently found out that one of the reasons was that it mated a truly gutless 1.6 engine to the gearbox from the 1.8. The spec was the dictionary definition of "poverty" which included IIRC a radio that didn't have RDS.

Ford apparently only built them to order for the fleet market, presumably because they knew no private buyer with even a semblance of intelligence would ever consider one.

I agree.

I remember being a passenger in one of these and the driver was giving it loads (presumably trying to impress us), but it just felt wooden, almost as bad as an original condition (and mint) 1988 Nova GTE my mate had.

Current one. Accord 2.4 auto (2008). Solid, reliable, well specc'd and comfortable for the 30k + a year I do.

But my god it's utterly boring. Nothing about it is exciting at all. Even when I load up the roof rack and cram a lifetimes crap in the back for a tip run.

I couldn't live with it if I didn't have my SC MX5 tucked up in the garage for a toy.

Citroen ZX 1.4.

It was a dull car. Not a bad car, just a dull car. It wasn't quick, didn't handle in a manner which encouraged spirited driving and didn't look inspiring. It rode quite comfortably but was ultimately a very forgettable car.
I had a ZX 1.9d in dark green - even more dull, slow, bland looking on about 12 inch wheels, and not even remotely reliable either. Poor choice of first car for me, but then I was skint! Does a single wiper give it a tiny bit of cool?

Range Rover Vogue SE. Not particularly fast, handled like a boat which could be forgivable if the ride was silky smooth but it wasn't.

Peugeot 309 1.3L

Boring reliability, boring handling, boring economy, boring looks.

Very cheap to run - so much so that although my ex-wife took it when we divorced, for some reason I bought it back off her, so I successfully bought a car I hated twice. I couldn't decide whether to be gleeful or depressed when the exhaust fell off just before MoT time and I scrapped it rather than getting what was probably a cheap repair - I was probably more keen to get my ex out of my life than anything else.
