As per title.

I've just purchased a 2001 toyota corolla 1.4 GS.

Now it seems pretty well screwed together has working a/c,electric windows, decent radio, good boot, seats 5 blah blah.

Thing is it's the most dull car I've ever owned.

Steering void of any feel,Uninspiring engine I thought the vvti would be abit VTEC YO,Nasty interior

Styling is abit erm acquired taste...

This is coming from a k11 Nissan Micra which had bags of character and was much more fun to drive.

I'll prob keep the corolla until it dies on an mot more expensive than itself but once saving for a house is over a toy is definately on the cards!!

Over to you.

The first one I had - a 2-door 1.0 Nova. It's only redeeming feature was that it was black, and back in 1984 that wasn't a common colour.

Not that I have owned, but often used from the company pool - Audi A3 TDI, not sure which engine, presumably smallest.

Gutless and agricultural engine, wallowy handling, nasty gearchange, zero steering feel.

Basically one big steaming pile of car for people who don't care about cars and just want to get from A to B.

Mrs RSV's 2011 Zafira. Practical family transport, but bland to look at, dull to drive & uneconomical to own. Utterly soulless.

2000 Honda Accord 'Sport', really slow and devoid of anything a PH would want. Just a barge on wheels.

I actually have liked all my cars to some extent, but my old Volvo 264 was not fun in many ways, didn't even retain its original PRV V6, replaced with a B23 instead.

My wife has a Bluemotion 1.6 TDi Passat Estate. Just think of your Golf with 1.5 times the weight. Boring doesn't come close. It is however a good place to be on the French Autoroute but on the Autobahn it took about 3 minutes to get to 120 with my foot nailed to the floor! Great dump run car as well.

2002 Renault senic. I felt like the life was being sucked out of me every time I looked at it. I only bought it because I couldn't get 3 child car seats across the back of a 'normal' saloon.
My wife loved it!

A 90s Nissan Almera 1.4. To be fair I didn't buy it because I wanted or needed it, just because it was for sale just down the road for £250 with a decent MOT, I drove it to the gym and back for a couple of months (putting a whole £10 of petrol in during that time) then sold it for £350 smile.

It wasn't bad actually, perfectly fine little car.

Citroen ZX 1.4.

It was a dull car. Not a bad car, just a dull car. It wasn't quick, didn't handle in a manner which encouraged spirited driving and didn't look inspiring. It rode quite comfortably but was ultimately a very forgettable car.

Morris 1300. Dull as dishwater but it had wheels and an engine and at the time it was all I needed (forget your BMW 320d!).

Impreza 1.5 hatch.
Dear Lord, it was slow.
What was I thinking?
Traded it for a WRX and couldn't stop grinning!

My current car

06 Vauxhall Astra 1.6 Sxi Twinport - Silver

it is incredibly boring to look at and even duller on the inside, the centre console is the most plain and awful looking thing i have seen in a car. Also i hate the orange backlights.

1991 Vauxhall Astra 1.2 Merit company car. 4 speed box, gutless pushrod engine, no creature comforts - didn't even have a clock, more blank switches than used ones!!

Sierra 2.3D, 65hp and 33mpg, made my previous Cavalier 1.6 seem exciting. The Cavalier had more power and did more to the gallon.
