I drove both 550 and 575 when I was looking and I can't honestly say Ferrari spent all that time and money and went backwards with the 575.

Don't get me wrong, the 550 is the value here, but I'm very happy with my 575 with manual and FHP etc.

Seems a bit expensive. Look at this similar car in Switzerland. http://www.autoscout24.ch/de/d/ferrari-f550-coupe-...

84800 CHF works out at about 58000 GBP. That is a lot less than 80000 GBP. Do I detect a Swiss/British arbitrage opportunity?
Don't forget the import duty and VAT payable when importing from outside the EU. Your £58k car will quickly become a £76k car.

So, for the uninitiated - just where is that damn handbrake?

I think the 550/575 a very pretty shape from the rear and side, but there's just too much 'big Supra' about the front end. Now rapidly disappearing out of my dream budget into the realms of 'don't even think about it'...

Between the drivers seat and door. I actually like it - it's a fly-off handbrake, and frees up the centre console nicely

Pop quiz... What car "weighs about twice as much as a Golf GTi, so you'd expect it to have twice as much power... No... It has... four times as much. Weighs the same as a planet... goes like the starship enterprise" (queue cheesy music) hehe
Hmmmm ... wasn't that the Aston Martin V8 Vantage?

Another thought on the handbrake - it allows you to have your left hand on the gearstick, and your right hand on the handbrake at the same time. Perfect for hillstarts

Can we stop referring to cars as analog please? By this I assume one means a little outdated, but the word has little relevance to cars.
More to do with the change from a cable operated throttle to digital (electronic) modulated throttle response, power assisted but still direct steering to electric steering, traction control, brake assist, stability control and all the other forms of computer (ECU) modules that are put in current cars.

Quite. But Can a 550 Maranello legitimately be referred to as analog? I'm fairly sure there's plenty of electronics in there, including ASR. In any case, I dislike the expression which is awfully knowing and over used. Surely the recent crop of hybrid hypercars can convince people digital is a good thing?

Just saw this spotted - apologies of reviving a thread! *Beautiful* car Mogul but also that blue looks a little dark to be TDF....maybe Pozzi? I think the original pictures on the article aren't cuoio but TDF blue with tan? A combination I know well wink.
