pipe down in the cheap seats you tool.

back on topic - the car looks, to these eyes, kind of awkward but anything with scissor type doors gets me overly excited...... For the looks and noise it would have to be a Speciale I'm afraid.

Thing is, would most owners be looking to track these cars? I'm really not sure how much you can 'use' these on normal roads.

Anyway, best of luck to Mclaren, good to see them putting the cat amongst the more established pigeons

Yet another awesome product from McLaren. As if the 650s wasn't awesome enough this is a 650S track focussed car on steroids.

Ferrari eat your heart out as McLaren continue to hit the bulseye with superior product again

It always amazes me how McLaren is building some amazing road cars but at the same time their GT3 race cars are not exactly front runners in any major championships..

This car sounds like it what the 12C should have been from day one, so 4 years down the line of 3rd time of trying they got it spot on. It’s a facelifted 12C – a MP4-12C.3

But to everyone who is disappointed they didn’t put a deposit down, don’t worry, guaranteed next year there will be another version with slightly more power and very slightly different looking

I am guessing 700PS

650S > 675LT > LM700 or whatever they call it

I drove a 12C a few times and it's crazy fast, if this thing feels faster – which going by road-test it and even the 650S feel a LOT faster - it must be truly mental fast!

You do wonder how fast these cars are going to get, where will it end.

I loved the 12C and would like to own one [or a 458/488/650S/991GT3 etc.] but on public roads you don’t get much of a chance to fully extend them.

The 12C was hitting 140mph in a few seconds down any small straight on any road without even trying.

If I had one I don’t know how I would keep my driving license!

I still would like to be in that unfortunate position though smile

So does it sound better than a 488? I dunno.

Does it look better? I dunno either.

Which one would I choose. I think the 675LT.

Can't wait for McLarens next step.

Looks nice and after driving and being very impressed by the 12C, I bet this is quite a joy to drive as well.

I'd have one in the burnt orange colour please smile

I'd still rather have a 458 all these years later after launch of 12C. I actually prefer the 12C and did not like it at launch not that its the last word in styling either.

They really do need to stop thinking they know best with this open diff etc. If customers want a proper locking diff they should give them what they want IMO.

Or perhaps people need to try and drive the thing first and actually decide whether they are really able to differentiate the dynamic behaviour due to the lack or otherwise of a slippy diff. That gets played up a lot by the press but I think it's very likely nearly all the time 90% of the owners simply aren't going to be able to say X facet of the handling is deficient due to the open diff...... Certainly apart from the 5th gear hatchet job on the 12c, none of the pro racing drivers (who actually will know what they are doing) I have seen had much if any problem having even the 12c fully sideways at will.

McLaren have suffered with the way that the BoP has been applied in the past. They won at Silverstone, but then the factory cars were taken out in the early laps at Paul Ricard.

Unfortunately Ferrari will always win in terms of sales.

I liked my 12c but it was always missing that something that everyone talks about.

Today all of these cars are so fast that for me if one goes .5 second faster to 124mph it's simply irrelevant, completely.

For me it's looks, feel, sound and the experience. Simple.

Subjective i know, but still not a pretty car IMO. Wickedly fast, but until they sort out headlights
and whatever else they need to do to make it a looker ... i wont be buying one (As if!)

I dont think any of them look brill ... the drawback of putting all your eggs in one basket
and having just one design brief for the whole range. cant understand why they did that
except to save costs.

It would get my money stuck in the Bank of Kos. Just as the P1 will see off the Laferrari so this trumps the 488 and no doubt you can update it in a few years at McLaren Special Projects, try doing that in a Ferrari.

Performance by what bench mark? If it's anything other than -60 I'd be interested in hearing your comments. Because 0-200kp/h the 675LT is considerably quicker and suspect it'll be quicker in the corners too. Even the 12C was faster, which was slower than a 650S, which is slower than this.

Many thanks in advance to your reply, in which I anticipate some sound statistics comparing the 2 cars over various performance marks (eg lap times, braking performance, various acceleration times (0-100/200/300km/h) etc

Fully agree with you here, when you think about it, it's completely ridiculous that some people [and reviewers] make a big deal when car A is marginally faster than car B to 124MPH under full acceleration from zero. When, as stated. they are both mental fast and how often would owners be accelerating full chat from 0-124 that would they notice 0.5 of a second difference. Or would they ever race the other car and be happy they beat then by half a car length. Madness.

But going by all the reviews I read so far this 675LT is to the 12C/650S what the spececiale is to the 458 and sounds like an amazing car that finally has the ‘something’ that was previously missing.

I would take a 675LT over a 488GTB - as it apparently has something missing over the 458 [I suppose the turbo engine isn't as nice as the NA unit in the 458 is the main thing] but, was in in the position, wouldn't chop in a 458/458 Speciale for one.

As the evo review states - 3 best cars in the world are the 458 Speciale, 991 GT3 RS and now this 675LT - this LT must be good then!

Especially as they've only been doing it for around 5 years - some track record.
