Just shows what I know then!

I'd have put money on an EP3 being quicker.

The Civic is only 8bhp up on the Celica and is around 100kg heavier. I'd expect the Toyota to be faster. The Toyota also handles better than the Civic, IMO; the Civic does have a nicer engine though.

I've driven a tuned a Leon Cupra and a standard Celica T Sport. Despite the Leon being much faster, the Celica would be my choice every single time.

The Leon was just so boring!

I wasn't that clued up on Celicas when I drove it and thought it was the lower powered version. I got quite a pleasant surprise at 6200 rpm!

Sounds like the celicas the way to go. Im going to see it tomorrow after work its a Y reg in black seemingly standard other than some crap wheels. My previous car was a clio 172 ill be quite glad to get into something that handles well again.

Reason why it has crap wheels is because the standard items corroded really badly and buckled very easily, so no issues there as to why they have been changed.

Have a good poke underneath as then can be very tatty.

Watch out for the seller locking the car with the key as this is a tell tale sign of a faulty alarm (alarms randomly when set with the remote). Actually set the alarm with the remote and leave it for a while.

Tensioners can chirp when cold so make sure the seller hasn't warmed it up.
