RE: Aston Martin V12 Vanquish S: Spotted

I wonder how much money Ford lost on each one that rolled out of the factory? The carbon fibre and bonded aluminium chassis was revolutionary for Aston Martin which at that time was still a firm that used an English wheel and percussive fitting techniques for recalcitrant bolts...
If anyone is tempted to buy one, be really interesting to see what you get on an engine dyno run. I doubt it actually is 520bhp...
Also worth getting a proper chassis inspection - one chap bought one of these recently and promptly discovered that although it passed an AML 140 point inspection it had a corroded front subframe and AML quoted £6000 to repair. You can see the full details on the Aston Martin forum.
Caveat Emptor and all that...

Just exceptionally good looking cars, with a lot more presence in the flesh than the more modern Astons.
It is true, the gearbox is hopeless. Nothing wrong with the rest of it - 500bhp and RWD; you can't really go wrong with that. I took ours drifting; nice and easy with that long 1st gear.
The interior of the early cars is a little 'basic' looking with that big slab in the middle, but the facelift interior still looks modern to me.
One day, would like to get another late model S and get the manual conversion done.

I've been searching for this modded Vanquish rear lights after i saw it on instagram! Personally, a Vanquish with those rear lights is the finest looking Aston martin I have ever seen. Please tell me where you did the rear lights modification, I'll be so grateful!
