If it's 23% stiffer than the last one, and that was at least 20% stiffer than the one before, then what was the first one made from then, stewed lettuce ?!
Will never be as rigid as the carbon tub McLaren 650S spider. Scuttle shake really annoys me and only gets worse as the car ages. Whilst 458 was noticeably better than F430 it was still apparent and I'm sure the 488 will be better again but McLaren have the edge when it comes to spiders as there is simply no compromise with the carbon tub.If you want a spider it has to be a McLaren 650S and £50k cash in the bank as well.
Still, love the more aggressive looks of 488 over 458 but not sure the facelift and turbo engine warrants the price differential.
Rather have a 458 Speciale or McLaren 650S spider IMHO
On the other hand, on Forza Horizon, turbo lag with the 650 S is quite worse than the 488. As I don't like Monopoly I'll give you the price differential so that you can buy a garage in Myfair

My views on the looks of the thing:
Like
Nicely proportioned
Rear three-quarter view and sculpted rear deck
Echoes of 246GT Dino in profile
Don't like
The headlights. As is the fashion they're techno-fussy. LED is not a new technology, folks. They do not HAVE to draw attention to themselves; they could instead be integrated into simpler, bolder headlight shapes – EYES. See, eyes are what make a good face.
The rear lights are simpler and therefore better. As an aside, I wonder if they have the VW affliction of red & amber lights bleeding into one another...
The profile is compromised by the ever-so-carefully-designed creases. OVER-TAILORED.
The blades in the grill and smooth blandness of the front are a bit 'watercraft'.
The cabin stripes push colour co-ordination too far. Together with the huge Ferrari script in the dash binnacle (UGH!) this adds up to TRYING REALLY RATHER TOO HARD.
But. Hey. It's a Ferrari.

I had a 355, 360 then 430, all Spiders. Fantastic cars but each new version was wider than it's predecessor to the point where I had to get bigger garage doors. Also I like to drive the very narrow country roads near my home. When the 458 came out I decided not to buy as for me it was too big. Now the 488 is bigger again.
Surely there has to be an end to this, the cars can't keep getting wider?
Very pretty car tho.

It's staggeringly good looking, apart from the front overhang. While it would be silly to claim this ruins the thing, it's frustrating when just about every other styling detail is perfect. With the front wheels pushed a bit further out, it would look eye-wateringly beautiful.
I do appreciate these things are determined by considerations other than styling, but still.
And yes I do want one anyway
