There is a car company advertising year or so old cars on the radio and claiming £xxx less than the price of new.

Well of course they will be!

It got me thinking, what is the biggest saving from new list price anyone has found?

Have you brought a 10 yr old car for £2K that was £22K when new?

Over to you.

The point they'll be trying to make is why buy new when you can save thousands by buying one that's a year old?

Not quite but I bought a 67,000 mile, 12 year old 4.2l Audi A8 for £4,650. Price new around £50K.

I understand that, and there is a lot of sense in it, it was just that because they were making a big thing of the amount saved that got me thinking.

And they were all terrible.

Clarkson had a Maserati Bora, Hammond a Ferrari 308 and May a Lambo <something>

Because they intentionally broke them to make the feature entertaining.
