fuel lines going into the tank, need to drop the tank to get to the fuel pump. not worth the risk using a dremel, would be first time using one outside a controlled environment too (lab)

This problem has virtually written off the car, so just forget about the clip and scrap the car for an easy 150 - 200 quid ?

if it really can't be fixed, itll go to the mechanics, towed, and they can handle it. hoping it wont come to that, though, hence the post

If the worm drive is seized due to corrosion can't you spray it with penetrating oil or Halford's Shock & Unlock then put a small socket (better grip than a screwdriver) on it and wriggle the worm drive to-and-fro?

Just get some pliers on the clip and twist the actual pipe around until you can get access to the screw. Or undo the pipe next to it that's blocking your access.

At the end of the day, someone did the clip up, so the screw will be accessible from somewhere.

Always used quality snips , try and pinch just below the worm applying a slight twisting motion at the same time .

Never failed to release any clip, regardless of type or quality...Good luck.

Side cutters, if you cut the area behind the screw barrel where the jubilee clip overlaps there is less chance of nipping the fuel line.

Have the schools broken up? It's a flipping jubilee clip, suck it up buttercup, and deal with it.

thanks, managed with a combination of the suggestions after a while + brute force

@normalbloke - was looking for advice on how to not add more work to the job by taking care, especially as it's on a fuel line. but hey, you carry on
