Rover Polynesian turquoise was always rare and nice to see on the 200 Coupe and cabrio. Not sure it was available on any other models, maybe a mk3 200 or mk2 400 - my Rover days are all so long ago now and my brain is increasingly addled silly

Never seen this on any BMW before, thought it was Laguna Seca blau for a while, but it turns out its santorinblau II. Individual colour tho, so rare just because of that.

I've just bought a 'gold' MX5 (pics to follow). Not to everyone's taste, and probably not the rarest colour, but its one not frequently seen.

I'd also say yellow Honda S2000's only ever seen one, but frequently seen it going north bound on the A38 from Derby, presumably as a daily drive.

However, one which I've only ever seen once in person is the E46 M3 in this champagne colour.

Alpina B12 6.0 in British racing grün, 1 of 1 apparently. Looks awesome beyond description imo.

That colour and Oxford Green look fantastic on the E46 M3 imo. The above colour really highlights the flared more aggressive look of the car.

I think both are owned by people on here, the top one is a 330ci manual facelift, which with the individual paint makes it about as rare as a talking unicorn.

32 different colours offered by MG Rover:

http://www.mg-rover.info/mg-rover-monograms.htm?

All in addition to the standard range. At £1200-£2500 extra apparently a nice little earner. Some great pictures in this thread. So boring that everything now seems to be black, white, grey or silver.

MX5 in Splash green (wonder why it wasn't a popular choice).

My GF's is this colour and it does look very nice in the metal.

I love that!!cloud9

Very similar to Sepang Bronze (M5, Z4M)

Lovely colour
Agree.

'Brown' cars never seemed that popular, but certain shades do look lovely.

Ipanema Brown is another nice one IMO.

Looking at these nuggets of russet excellence reminds me just how popular flat (non-metallic) brown used to be.

That is magnificent. Petrol was either available on a Vectra C, or a similar shade was, no? A mate of mine had a Vectra in a similar shade, a bit like Ford's 'Mallard Green' but perhaps a little more green than the blue of the Ford. It really made the Vectra look quite smart- amazing, I know!

I adore Escort Cosworth's in Mallard Green. That was a rare colour too, was it only available on the Monte Carlo?

Refreshing. Will start campaign for non-black/white/silver cars to be able to use bus lanes, special parking spaces at supermarkets, priority boxes at front of traffic lights, higher speed limits and lower fuel duty.

On the contrary Mallard is one of the most popular Escort Cosworth colours and was available on non Montes.

Mine is Mallard and BTW it was not available for any other models in Fords range.

Tourmallard came later and is different shade.

ETA....apart from 1 Sapphire Cosworth they painted in Mallard, which might have been the last ever car made.
