My loyalties lie with the type of cars I like driving. Couldn't care less who makes them.

Thus far I've never owned two cars made by the same manufacturer (unless you count VW and Skoda). smile

I've gone: Citroen, Ford, VW, VW, Honda, Vauxhall, Mini, VW, VW

I'm pretty loyal to VW these days but I am getting tempted by old Merc's

My fun car has always been a Porsche. The wife will never swap her TVR.

The shopping cars have been every make under the sun. Lots of Vauxhalls, but that's because they're dirt cheap nearly new.

Currently loving a Nissan Leaf. Maybe I'll get a Tesla next.

Manufacturers that I've owned:

Austin
Audi
VW
MINI
Fiat
Mitsubishi
Honda
Ford
Saab
Land Rover

The only one that I have owned two of out of on that list is Saab, so I feel some loyalty to the brand. Currently own a Land Rover and will own another at one point. Thinking I might get a Discovery 2 to replace the Saab 9-5 smile

We've had our Ford, Vauxhall, Audi, Nissan eras with the odd other Jap or French thrown.
We are now into our Mercedes and Land Rover for the his and hers.
However my biggest love for the last 18 years or so have been TVR.

When I had a Saab 900 I was a Saab guy. Then they brought out the GM "900" and I hated it. No more Saab guy.

When I had my 944 I was a Porsche guy. Then I had a MKII Jag (as a daily, yes) and I was a Jag guy. Then a Vauxhall Omega 3L, and I was quite impressed by it but not a Vauxhall guy. At all. Then my 928 and a Porsche guy again. Then a GranSport and I was a Maserati guy. Then an old Grand Cherokee and I was a "shed guy" for a couple of months. Now in a Jag X350 and I'm a Jag guy again.

Until the next car.
laugh not just me then?

I do have a soft spot for French hatchbacks and Italian city cars, but not really loyal as such.
I like fords. I've never owned one. But my first job was at a ford dealer, my best mates first car was a ford too so I like to see them doing well.
Vuaxhalls are plop.

Looking at my garage, I should say Mazda... But truth be told I don't care for the brand really. I just like those particular cars.

Anything really but particularly Jaguars. I'm looking out for a 3.0 V6 diesel Citroen C5 at the moment though.

Loyalty is to Lotus - side effect of growing up in Norfolk and seeing the JPS Specials at Hethel...
In terms of cars owned so far:
Ford Fiesta
Ford Escort
Rover 200 (please don't judge me...)
Lotus Elise
Lotus Europa S
Lotus Evora S
BMW Z4

Really feeling the Evora itch again - it was a blinding car.

I like to say I don't have any but as soon as car conversations come up I always find myself saying I'd rather go for a higher mileage older BMW than a newer lower mileage skoda (for example)

So in reality. BMW is where mine lie

I've never really understood brand loyalty or fanboyism or even the people who will constantly tell you there car is THE best car on the road and answer every thread on here (best looking car, best car from A-B, best car for under 50k etc) with their own car.

Just shows a lack of imagination and an inability to be objective.

I just buy whatever car looks fun, sounds good, suits my needs or more importantly I can afford to buy and run.

If I had a lot more money I can't imagine any situation which would lead me to own a garage just full of Ferraris or with 5 porsches etc as there's just so much good choice and so many interesting vehicles made by a multitude of manufacturers at the moment.

But each to their own smile

Had the following,

Rover
Fiat
Renault
Peugeot
Citroen
Toyota
Smart
Ford
BMW
Lancia
Porsche
Saab
Volvo
Honda
Mini
Nissan
Volkswagen

All have had good and bad points - none have ever let me down more than a poor battery. Can't understand fanbois.

I had a fairly boring diesel Saab 9-3 for a couple of years and it really got under my skin. When I need a more sensible car, I'll be looking to get a 9-5.

For a daily driver I can't see past Suzuki at the moment my little Swift Sport is amazingly good fun to drive, it's cheap to run and insure.

My weekend car is German (Porsche) they seem to make the best ones, C63 AMG's are nice too but I've recently had a bit of an eye on the Jaguar F-Type Coupe could be my next plaything.
