BMW Z4 GT3: Pic Of The Week

Not long for this world, what better time to celebrate BMW's evil little racer?

An excuse to feature the BMW Z4 GT3 has been required for a while now. Where other manufacturers have chosen to closely align their racing cars with the road cars - see Mercedes SLS, Audi R8 and Bentley GT - BMW has trodden its own path with the little roadster. How many more Z4s do you think have been sold because of the GT3 car? Not many, making the fact it exists all the more laudable.

And it looks so damn good. Wide, low and menacing it sounds just how it looks too - angry. Really angry. At Spa last weekend the MarcVDS car took BMW's first sportscar victory since 1998, meaning it just had to feature. That and the fact it will be replaced by the M6 GT3 next year.

This Spa pic isn't from the 24 Hours - it's not raining - but instead the British GT championship earlier this month. The sun is shining, the climb up Eau Rouge is beginning and the Z4 GT3 looks magnificent.  Your desktop will appreciate it!

If BMW had been made to produce this as a production car, I would buy one.

However, I agree with everyone else - not a great POTW.

Plus, what is wrong with rain? I have this as a wallpaper -

Doesn't even need to be a GT3 for a Z4 to look good in the rain...

Sorry, but have to concur with everyone else's opinion. The photo is blurry, but not in a good way and so much of the detail is lost once you blow it up to desktop size.

Shame, the Z4 GT3 is one of the most visually and acoustically arresting cars.

If only BMW had made a road going GT4ish version.

Guy I used to go to school with was driving that Team Russia by Barwell Z4 with the demon tweeks livery. He did well! 4th!

We were at Spa last weekend and I found myself saying the same thing that if BMW made a proper Z4M, then I'd definitely be interested.

From memory I think Z4's came 1st, 3rd and 4th and they sounded really loud and angry, just like GT cars should be.

It was a great weekend despite the weather and even wifey was happy when she managed to get a photo together with Bruno Senna at Von Ryan racing during the pit walk!!

Apologies for any disappointment all! FWIW it was the one that worked best in portrait too and looks best once the border is applied rather than the lead image. Just for ref these were the other images considered; any that are unanimously preferred?
