Pfft, relatively speaking that was not a bad pass. I'm not saying it was a good one either, but I experience worse every day. It was certainly not something to get that mental over. I probably have one car pass that close to me each day, but instead of 15mph, the car is doing 50mph.

Both angry people that we could do without mixing with the rest of us.

1. The Pass wasn't that bad
2. The cyclist was a dick-head for pursuing the car
3. The car driver became a criminal at the point where he got out of the car and assaulted the cyclist and will likely be arrested if reported to the police

1. The pass was far too close - I get several of those every time I'm on a ride from fat, stupid dheads who almost certainly have no idea how terrifying it can be for the cyclist. At least, I hope it's because they have no idea rather than because they think it's funny or clever.
2. The cyclist was a dick-head for pursuing the car - agreed.
3. Hopefully the driver will think twice before passing so closely in the future. Pratfall on show on youtube amused me greatly.

I think when a pass feels too close, a lot of it has to do with the speed the car is going. I don't really have an issue with cars passing that close at those speeds, unless they move left too early. The way I look at it is, the faster the car is going, the further away I want it from me.

The driver has a problem. Severe aggression, can't even run straight, hope he broke his nose, fat tt.

Liked the bit about "Do you pay road tax", a lot of cyclists are also car owners, I am one of them, and a lot of cars pay ZERO road tax.

tt of the highest order, and the cyclist was milking it with a view to posting on u-tube.

To be fair, I would say that the behaviour of both could easily result in prosecution under "Offences contrary to sections 5, 4A, 4, of the Act and section 91 Criminal Justice Act 1967", perhaps "under causing a disturbance in a residential area or common part of a block of flats", I am sure there are other more relevant sections of the Affray laws.
Both of them would fail the attitude test.
Whilst the car driver was a total arse, I expect a decent brief could conjour up a defense based on the fact that the cyclist gave chase and that the may have "felt afraid for his safety" (yeah right, given his attitude, but I bet it could be argued).

In the real world though, if there had been a copper about, they would probably both be told to 'go their own ways seperately' as they were both in the wrong.

Blimey! eek

My two cents

The bloke who passed was impatient, angry and aggressive.I'm guessing this is not the first incident he's been involved in? He needs reeducation and a maybe a prosecution asap -anger management wouldn't go amiss either wink

The cyclist was quite clearly miffed at the the seemingly close pass, but I'm not so sure he did himself any favours chasing after the bloke and escalating the situation.

Funny thing is, they don't have any of this malarkey in the Netherlands, where all road users cohabit harmoniously. However, I think this will keep on escalating until there is a fundamental shift in mentality from all road users and policy from government. Don't hold your breath, though. frown

Car driver was clearly in the wrong with the overtake........... however people like the cyclist are just asking for trouble really - once he caught up with and pulled alongside the car he seemed determined to antagonise an already irate driver, why?

That kind of situation is never going to end well for either party, he would have been better off just forgetting the incident or passing the footage on to the police.

Crap pass, but not worth going out of your way to inform them of that. If they'd stopped at the junction might've been worth saying "bit more space next time", but changing route is silly.

That said, I'm glad he did, the rest of the video is pure comedy.

I watched it again this morning and was fking pissing myself laughing most of the way through

People should stop apportioning blame and enjoy it for the comedy show that it is.

When idiots meet, there are no winners.

Indeed. Also, as somebody stated earlier - the cyclist was lucky the bloke in the car didn't kick the crap out of/stab him given his goading attitude was only going to make the situation worse. Not saying he would have deserved it but there are a lot of nutters out there, far better to tut under your breath and let it go.

I imagine the guy would have probably just just ripped the camera off and then pushed him a bit before seeing sense, but a punch is quite likely.

We all fk up sometimes - if we're fortunate then either nobody is watching, or the people around us are sharp enough to avoid a collision, so I really don't understand why people get so upset when another person makes a perfectly innocent misjudgement in front of them. But I also don't understand why a person that makes a mistake can't hold their hands up and apologise to somebody for it.
Quite, I have cameras in my vehicles and film a lot of "oopsy" moments but have only uploaded one that directly affected me (on Vimeo, not YT) - a van overtook a line of waiting vehicles at speed, right at me, then hurled abuse at me for beeping my horn!

"Let he who is without sin cast the first stone" is relevant, as you say very few people are perfect drivers and we have all done things that would be YT fodder if somebody else had a camera, misjudgements, inattention etc. Upload-worthy stuff is when it was deliberate or should have been obvious that it would be dangerous, eg. the truck overtaking a car on the wrong side of the roundabout.

Absolutely. But that wouldn't generate enough youtube views for the cyclist.

Angry man meet total knob jockey. No surprise it escalated.

I'm sure one day angry man won't just be a mouthy tt that can't run without falling over and this cyclist will find himself lying on the pavement wondering why his face hurts.

As said above, they deserve each other and I pity the Police having to deal with this sort of crap all the time.

One prick gets massively aggressive to the point that he manages to deck himself.
Other prick gets taken to task and now has to go home to his mums and try and wash poo out of his chamois gusset.

He seems suddenly deflated when the lorry driver just says sorry. He is definitely fishing for aggressive confrontations to film by the looks of things.

The noxious chopper in the Pug really gave himself what he deserved. Ghastly human.

I wonder how he explained the face damage to his son when he staggered back to the car?

Big conundrum, do you let your son think you just got bh slapped by a mincer on a pushbike or tell him you're such a malcolm you smashed yourself up. rofl
