Ahahahahahahaha! That fall... Hahahahaha!

The anger the Peugeot driver displayed and the fact he created sentences from only swear words deserves a medal.

Thanks for making my Friday OP.

You do wonder sometimes. He is probably the weird colleague at work everyone wants to avoid.

Not only has he got 2 cams, he's also got one of those air horn things. Definitely a tt, that confirms it.

I think moving over if there's room to let a faster vehicle past is just general courtesy rather than something you have to do, I know when I'm out cycling and I hear a car coming up behind I'll shift to the left more than I normally would to help them out.
If it's safe to do so, and not massively inconvenient.

Seeing as there was a junction just up ahead, the cyclist pulling over would have made zero difference to the driver's journey.

If that was a driver who'd complained about a poor overtake and then chased the car down everyone would be calling it road rage.

Stupid behaviour from both.

As a person that rides bikes (admittedly not on roads), I totally get the frustration when drivers "get a bit too close".
But there is just no need to be a dick and try to intimidate / confront the driver by chasing him down. If the rider is that bothered, pass the footage to the police.

I think its partly a feeling of self-righteousness cyclists get when out on the road, for whatever reason.

A prime example happened to me a few weeks back when I dropped a colleague off at the train station and had to do a 3 point turn, reversing into 1 out of approx. 10 empty disabled parking bay to be able to make the turn.
As I reversed into the disabled bay, I noticed a cyclist so decided to let him past before moving on, only for him to mutter "disabled, are we" as he rode by.
There was just no need for it!

Regarding riding on the pavement, there is no excuse..

Reading !!

Are you sure?

In another thread Welshbeef referred to Reading and it sounded like Sunningdale. This can't be the same place surely.
100% sure. Jesse Terrace, briefly onto Castle Hill (narrowly avoiding pedestrian and cyclist - double standards and all that), then he turns into Carey Street which leads into ZinZan Street.
It is indeed... in fact it happened practically outside my house. For a little local perspective, the road is one-way and wide enough for 2 cars to pass each other (carefully) even with cars parked both sides. Even if the cyclist was wanting to avoid any suddenly opening doors, there would still be plenty of room for the driver to move into. In my book it's an easily avoidable near-miss by the driver. And then cyclist was a bellend for going after him. Two mongs don't make it right and all that.

Regardless of the situation (and I don't think either of the participants can cover themselves in glory) I'm sure we can all agree that fat people face-planting the pavement is pretty funny to watch.

Good point. Cycling on the pedestrian pavement is an offence under Section 72 of the Highways Act 1835. It's a fixed penalty notice of £30 up to a maximum of £2,500 if it involves dangerous cycling, for example like the tt who was in the news knocking over the little child and riding away.
Presumably he'd argue he was doing it to escape a kicking

I'd disagree, no inconvenience to the cyclist and ultimately safer for him to have moved left.

I'm trying to defend the driver, he was a colossal dick.

It's hard not to be suspicious that the cyclist rides with more attention on his interpretation of what he is entitled to as opposed to what makes him a good cyclist. I'm not going as far as to suggest he is baiting trouble, but he's obviously quite happy to engage in it (up until someone might be about to put one on him).

I'm not going to apportion blame as they really are a pair that deserve each other.

I don't see why the cyclist should have had to get out of the way of the driver when there was a junction coming up anyway, so it wouldn't have made any difference to the driver to have just waited behind.
You're joking, right?

I'm a "cyclist" and I get out of the way of cars at the first available opportunity when I am holding them up, even stopping by the side of the road if need be. And no, I am actually quite an aggressive cyclist, no problems tackling notorious roundabouts in Vauxhall, flowing with traffic.

It's called not being a dhead.

By the same reasoning there is no problem with hogging the outer lane, everyone can wait, no difference, right? Surely at some point one's route would diverge.

Here's more from dhead for you, in case you have not read this thread fully:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3twaqmoGmvY

That's the sort of person you are defending. A serial dhead just out to be 100% unreasonable, self righteous, confrontational, and a certified prick, who probably (certainly) thinks they are some vigilante hero of the road.

Look him up and befriend him?

Cyclist will end up dead from gobbing off to the wrong person. Had the bloke been a bit more of a nutter and younger, this could have been the time.
Well said.

I'm not saying that the cyclist is perfect but to those asking why he pursued the car - if he felt that the pass was dangerous enough to warrant him having a word in the ear of the driver then fair enough. Granted, the cyclist has to be prepared for what will happen next but I don't judge him harshly on the basis that he wanted to have words with the driver.

The evidence is all there though, front and rear cameras, 352 videos uploaded to Youtube so far, airhorn. Similar editing style to the other cycling vigilante whose achieved a modicum of fame (somebody in the midlands, can't remember where) whereby he fast forwards the interlude bit, making it harder to spot the points he almost collides with pedestrians so keen is he to catch up to and confront the driver.
