Looking for some advice

Went to see a car today for my brother. TT 180 Quattro MK1. It was spot on but had been stood for a few months

Car drove fine except one issue. When lifting off the throttle in gear only there was a loud noise that could be heard. Depressing clutch, neutral or applying throttle made the noise go away. Was like a droning noise

Any thoughts?

Loose baffle in the exhaust, or loose heat shield perhaps.

Hoping it is something as simple as a loose heat shield. Could it be possible that it is 4wd related?

I'm sure this discussion has been had many times on the TT forums, but AFAIK it's possible to get a FWD 180 although the majority are 4WD. The OP did mention that this one was a Quattro smile
