Hi Guys.

Thinking of buying a GTR, but been put of by bell housing problems, gear box problems (expensive) etc etc.

Thought these cars were bullet proof!

Has anyone got any advice on buying, also any good retailers of these cars that you can recommend to me.

Regards.

Litchfield are a good shout as they'll probably know owners who are selling ones they've looked after.

Or Middlehurst Nissan

Bell housings are hit and miss tho not the end of the world as a re-engineered replacement can be fitted for around £750 which is small change when it comes to running a GTR. I had an 09 car which I sold at 27k miles and the bell housing was still fine. Also, gearboxes are pretty bulletproof. The problems were with the shifting mechanisms and in the early days as no one,Nissan included, had engineered a fix for it Nissan would just swap the whole box under warranty which is where you here the £18k scare stories from. The gearbox niggles can be sorted easily now for about £500 half the cost of which is for dumping the oil.
They do have a few issues but if you buy a well looked after car most of them will be sorted by now and on the whole they are very, very reliable.
