I've not heard of this app. What interests me is whether they've removed the silly restrictions on using your mobile phone now that it's in their interest to do so?...

No, the restrictions are still there, if you are thinking of using your mobile in a petrol station, but you scan the QR code from inside the car, it seems to be a little more reliable now than it was when it was first introduced.

I was asked if I want a shell drivers club card once. Just had a look again and if I buy 500 litres of diesel @ 1 point per litre I earn a £2.50 reward. Let's say that a litre of diesel is about £1.16 at the moment. So for spending £580 on diesel with them, I would get £2.50, or essentially 0.43% cash back.

At the time I was using about 50 litres of diesel a week so it would take about 10 weeks to earn the reward, which works out to 25p a week.

I think I'll drive down there now and sign up!
That man maths doesn't quite add up as they always have promotions, such as buy a coffee and get 100 bonus points, (equivalent to 100 litres worth of fuel), and recently had triple points for six weeks.

It works for me but as always YMMV.

I'd like to try FUAG but don't have a smart-phone and there's no Wi-Fi on the forecourt for my ipod. irked

Agree on the second point but not the first.
Tossers frown can't say I've had a problem, often have the pump in one hand and phone in the other.
