You can have the 2002 Turbo, but those 1973 oil crisis yanks are truly awful.

^ +1 on that. Love that Bullnose TA.

The 2002 Turbo is a lovely looking car but that Turbo Lag takes some skill to master.

Good choice.

1970 was a surprisingly rubbish year. Yes, there was the Range Rover but it's not my cup of tea.

I'll go for the Citroen GS.

None for sale in the PH classifieds, so here's another:

Rewound a year to 1971 - but it'd be worth gaining a year for one of these.....

Born in '72, and this was racing that same year...

...whilst this was launched just a year earlier - I'll have one of each, in these colours please!

1965 - I know it was a mere chassis at the time but what the heck. Apologies for the image overkill but I never tire of looking at these beautiful machines...

No apology needed. I think the Miura (especially in ultra rare SV Jota guise) is one of the most gorgeous car designs of all time.

'87, so has to be either the 288 Evoluzione, or the RUF CTR smile

Sorry...I stumbled across this beauty also released in 1963. It would not replace my first two choices but it would steal third place. Beautiful shape and very classic.

I have to go for two cars introduced in 1976:

The first ever "M-car":

And probably my favourite looking Ferrari:

Thanks, very interesting thread. Well, it seems that the 1970s (Alfa Montreal, Citroen SM, 240Z, Pantera, Challenger, Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda, Pontiac Trans Am, Range Rover, Celica, Escort Mexico/RS1600) and 1990s (NSX, Diablo, lotus Carlton, Sierra RS Cosworth 4x4) got off to a great start but the 80s less so.

For 1980, the following new cars were introduced:
Austin Metro
Ferrari Mondial
Lada Riva
Morris Ital
Renault Fuego
Talbot Solara
Talbot Tagora

A year earlier (1979), I could have had Saab 900 Turbo, Lotus Sunbeam, Mercedes S-Class (W126) and a year later (1981) I could have has an Alfa GTV6 or E28 5-Series. Even my wife (1982) gets the E30 3-Series, Mercedes-Benz 190, Citroen BX, Ford Sierra, Mitsubishi Starion and Porsche 944!

The Audi Quattro is unquestionably the "best" car launched in 1980. I'm not sure if it was all that though (although the performance figures for 1980 were pretty impressive) and if I was going to have a Quattro, it would have to be the 20v, which didn't come out until 1989.

However, the mk3 Escort was also launched in 1980, including the XR3, so I'll take one of those!

Not sure if it's as cool as the outgoing mk2 RS2000 though!

Across the pond, it looks rather better. I'm reliably informed that the 7th gen Ford F150 was introduced in 1980

and although that bodystyle had been around since 1973, the Fall Guy's GMC pickup was a 1980 model. Can I have that?

Old school Fords are great in my book....and if you want to play at being Colt (Lee Majors) in the 'Fall Guy' go ahead - pick ups are rare on here smile

Damn it, you took my ideas. Though I would add the original Impreza and 456.

Really easy one for me - 1961, the year this was launched:

I'll have to go for the Swedish one then

Hmmm, so you've taken the two most obvious ones.

I was surprised these were launched so early, but pleased. Couldn't find a '61 vintage, so here's a youngster:
