I doubt it. More likely the Opel Lotus Omega, with the steering wheel on their side.
Because obviously that made my question entirely different.

Why, do you have one to sell?
No, sadly not. I spoke to an American guy years ago who said it was a shame they'd never had the Lotus Carlton there, that's all. It jogged my memory

Annoying that I've long said to myself that once I've got a place of my own in a year or two, I'll buy either an R32 GTR or an E60 M5...

R32's are going to sky rocket and it seems all the bottom ends are falling out of early M5's at the minute!

First time I came across one of these things was late at night and I pulled up behind it in my Monza GSE.
I folowed for a couple of miles still trying to work out what it was. Then we hit country lanes with long straight bits. I though the Monza was fairly rapid for what it was and the fact it was a time when it wasnt to old. It left me for dead I was flat out on the straights. Then after he slowed we came across the twisty bends which I knew well. It dissapeared for view in a flash. I was doing everything to keep up but it was a lost cause. As soon as I got home out came all the books (yes it was long before internet) to find out what it was.
I dont think I have ever been so stunned to see how much quicker all round this car was to mine.
Amazing car then and now.
Nothing around that time could keep up with the 32 on or of the track. For a long time the 32 dominated the race classes it entered. Seem to remember the HKS r32 was considered a legend

Not so much I would imagine because they were available for the US market sold as the Supra Turbo.
However, there is such a disparity between US and UK pricing because demand far outstrips supply in the US.

Plus, the Supra has really grown in to its looks. The R32 is a beast, but it is hardly beautiful like the Supra.

Here's mine. smile

Looks like they are exporting them to the US and making them cheaper! No shortage of cars over there.

Skyline R32 GTR prices are increasing simply because there are so few decent ones left in Japan. The dealers seem to be using the US 25 year rule as an excuse to inflate prices to their current levels, but be very careful what you buy!
A Skyline R32 GTR can often be a challenge to sell in the UK, especially outside of May and June. During the winter months there are often bargains to be had as sellers have to reduce prices significantly to find a buyer!

I've had two R32 GTR's and could be persuaded to own a third, but looking at what's currently available I'll not be parting with my money anytime soon!

Articles like this make me smile. It's one of the reasons why I am keeping my 3.0 Twin Turbo 2JZGTE Supra now. Prices are going to go up and up and up.

That would look great with the original TT wheels on it and a metallic finish. Have you ever considered a manual conversion too?
Got some mega mods planned for it

6 speed conversion

New paint job (metallic blue or yellow)

New ceramic turbos

Rebuilt engine

The full works.

We have plans to take it upto a safe and reliable 700+ bhp.

The engine is so awesome it is unbreakable.

I had it on for sale for a while and just had timewasters. Think it was God's way of telling me keep it and stick it to all the haters biggrin

It pulverised my old M6 V10 and it was running on 7Psi boost out of a maximum 17PSi.

Would love one of these but finding it very difficult to sell my current car to fund it. Even prices on the R33s are starting to increase as well, it's just much more noticable on the R32. To be honest I'm surprised values have stayed as low as they have until now on the 32; with such a cult status it seemed amazing you could pick one up for 9-10k.

Might be something I have to pass on unfortunately and just dump the money into the S15 hehe

Let's face it the current GTR is too easy to drive and it was only a matter of time before more and more people realised what some of us already knew. The Skyline GTR is the complete package!

On the contrary, R33 prices are suffering. There's a thread going on GTROC on the subject, some put it down to the R32 prices.

I'm in the U.S. Mk4 Supras are not as sort after here as they were domestically available here in small numbers. You can get a mint one for around 30k quid.

The vehicles that bring the BIG money are the land rover defender diesels.

NSX's are very expensive, rx7s more than the supra.

I've seen r32 gtr's on craigslist for around $19k-$25k.

Also I reckon the supra is not as sort after is because it is not awd like the gtr. I can boost my mustang to 650 whp for 3.5k quid and out class it in every dept. There are plenty of fast rwd cars here, but a shortage of awd.

For years the only fast awd cars in the U.S. was the eagle talon/eclipse.

Classic imprezas are well sought after in Colorado and the West. We never got awd and turbo. I'd kill for an sti v6, the n/a classic imprezas are overpriced pos's.

Only if they bought it with the intention of possibly selling it on to make a profit. Otherwise it's academic.

I don't understand this obsession with rising car values, we're not all dealers. For people who actually like their cars (this being PH) a big spike in values is a PITA because the cars you already own cost more to insure and maintain, and the cars you aspire to own rocket off out of reach.
At last someone who agrees with my way of thinking. If you are a car enthusiast, rising car prices are the worst thing that can happen. So after maintaining it fastidiously, not driving it for fear of damaging it or putting miles on it you MIGHT be able to make a few quid when you come to sell it, then what? What do you replace your "investment" with? Anything vaguely interesting will have also appreciated. What do you actually drive for the enjoyment of driving if your car becomes too precious? What happens when they become too expensive and are kept by collectors in hermetically sealed garages? Loose loose whatever way you look at it.

Must be a private sales only thing then since most places I've spoken to have hiked R33 prices up by around 3k in the last year. Can't be long until 33s go up though, once 32s get out of people's price range I'd have thought attention would shift to the 33, especially as the 34 is expensive already too. Who knows where R32s will be in another year…

It's worth watching the Ferrari Testarossa market where prices are going up monthly on cars that haven't sold in six months and supply is up nearly 200% this year. There is a difference between values and prices!

If I get another Skyline R32 GTR it has to be a Dark Blue one!
These were the two R32 GTR's I had the privilege of owning:
1st) A genuine V-Spec II

2nd) Something very special from Zeni Tani
