Harry you madman, haven't you got a house to spend ALL your money on?!

That said, if you love the E320 more, maybe the Aston could go...

It's lost reverse gear which is a common problem with these 5 speed autos... if you can see in the photo I have a 280te behind with the same issue!!!
The bumper is similar to an AMG , it's a Carat Duchatelet body kit and wheels. It was dealer fitted from new. I'm pretty sure it was only Lancaster Mercedes in Ipswich that gave this as a dealer option.. makes it pretty rare. Not everyone's cup of tea I know but I like it, must be the Miami vice pimp in me!!!
Sorry for posting everything twice , god knows what's going on this

I thought you meant the ballast was in the car until I spotted the jumbo-bag! It's about half the height of my cabriolet - how does it ride and handle? I like the CD wheels.

Have heard the same about the five speed. I believe dropping in a refurbed 4 sp is popular and cost effective.

I just thought it was me who was driving round in an episode of Miami Vice. Mine has the Carat rear spoiler.

Where are you? That's a lovely colour on the car - and I think a series 1 AMG front bumper too?

My local garage in south London is brilliant - but it's a long way to come from Bucks! I'd get on the Mercedes forum and ask.

That said, mine has decided to deploy its emergency rollover protection/rear headrests. I am scratching my head as to how to get them back down - looks a bit silly with the roof down!
Which garage do you use?

It rides like a Maybach and handles like a KTM Xbow .... no, sorry, got that the wrong way round!!!! But luckily ( or unluckily) I live in Milton Keynes with new smooth dual carriageways !!

I am very tempted to go the 4 speed route but not sure if gear ratios , kick down etc is going to work out. I know you need to use a 4 speed CE prop too. If anyone has any answers ?? Different Merc forums give me different answers.
I'm liking the sound of a carat rear spoiler , mine doesn't have one. Do you have a pic?

The few days I had mine for sale before my change of heart , it was on carandclassics.co.uk . Had a lot of interest and it's free !!!
Seems to get genuine people interested. I have sold quite few rare old Italian motorbikes on there without the messeres you get with certain auction sites.

Stu - get it back on the road: it's lovely!

Have to say I am not a fan of the AMG springs on mine - ride is harsh. Looking for a set of Sportline springs if anyone has any leads?

I use my local garage - he is brilliant and has taken care of many cars for me over the last 15 years. Even the Aston gets services by Stratstone for the service stamps, but all meaningful work is done by Panos, who is a proper engineer and lovely chap.

He also owns a Pagoda, among other interesting things - his Alfa Junior was in the garage last time I popped over) so he loves old Mercs...

Euro Car Centre, Tulse Hill, SE24. I'm a short drive/easy walk away in SW2. Panos and his son own it. Nice guys and definitely enthusiasts.

He reckons the headrest issue on my car is likely a vacuum pipe issue under the rear seats. I haven't had time to check...

He's also worked on my friend and nearby neighbour's 500SEC, which will be going to him for restoration this winter.

If you bring your car to him, let me know and we'll have a beer in my local, the Tulse Hill Hotel, which is next to his garage.

My Dad has a 1 owner white E320 cabrio with about 30k miles on the clock sat in his garage. He rarely drives it these days due to his old age and told me last night he was thinking of letting it go frown

It was his dream car and collecting it new from the factory in 1993 was a very proud moment that I joined him on.

Sad days.

If anyone on here is searching for a mint 1 owner, low mileage car, drop me a pm.
