Nothing to distinguish it. Most people don't even know it exists. If you didn't know it existed and now do I'm afraid to say the knowledge won't enhance your life in any way.

My best mate did. So appalled was I with his choice I told him to look into a Dacia Sandero if he was looking for cheap and cheerful.

He now drives said Sandero, for which I'm glad for him and that he listened to me.

Here's mine. People are saying the Auris is a bland box, which is true, but I've got a new entry having seen one in the metal today for the first time. [ETA: The new] Citroen C1. No redeeming features whatsoever. I'd have a paper bag over my head if forced to drive one, and just hope I don't get one as a hire car any time.

Not current, but the Fiat Stilo would be a worthy contender.

I agree. Ever since the ace Tipo and pretty Bravo/Brava, Fiat's C-segment offering has been a bit of a non-entity. The Stilo Estate was also pretty gopping. There was one Stilo that I found endearing though and that was the 5-pot Abarth version. Only 170bhp and probably crap but a good looking and slightly leftfield car. I would be tempted at shed money and probably live to regret it after nothing on it was working after 2 weeks!

The newer Bravo would also be tempting at the right money. I don't understand why Fiat/Alfa can't make a really good looking, practical small hatchback with some Italian style (the 147 was gorgeous)! Instead we get the rather awkward-looking Giulietta and oh wait... the Bravo quietly went out of production last year!

I rather like the Honda Jazz too, especially the sporty one (not that that is an indication of PHness). It's roomy and practical where most others in the class are small and cramped and it would probably be quite a fun, economical little thing to biff around in! No, the average 18 year old wouldn't be seen dead in one though!

Italian and available with 170bhp. That's pretty PH.

You need to find something that's either utterly soul-crushing to drive, or something so tasteless that nobody with an ounce of appreciation for motoring would buy.

Yeah but people remember the X90, the worst cars IMO are the ones you forget ever existed, like erm.......

The Jazz is a brilliant little car and I hope it isn't PH, it's above PH, far too good to be compared to lessor cars like 5 series BMW's and Range Rovers and various other ste that people love on here.

The Toyota Corolla.

The only car I have driven that had no appeal whatsoever as a driver's car. It didn't even have comedy badness in any form - it was just dull.
redcard

ETA: Unless you mean that specific shape. They did a mildly warm one which wasn't unpleasant to look at.

Vauxhall Agila.

I have no idea what they are for, yet I am hugely wary of their presence: as if a species Greater than our own has introduced a sardine tin on wheels into the tank, merely to toy with our expectations as a cosmic joke.

Isn't that a rebadged Suzuki?
So possibly it is very appropriate for some market (India or Japan maybe?) but not especially the UK

I'll vote for a recent courtesy car: a grey Vauxhall Corsa 1.4 petrol automatic.
Tragic.

Mitsubishi Lancer estate - had one for a week as a courtesy car.

Dull, beyond all imagination.

Agila is a joint venture by Suzuki/VX. The Agila gets the A/C and ESP deleted as presumably, Brit drivers enjoy getting hot and sweaty and then crashing while swerving to avoid mooses.

The small Suzukis are very non-PH and that is often a good reason for buying one. The new Celerio is immensely likable as a city car/daily taxi, but would earn zero points at Piston-fest. I find this wildly tempting.

The Wagon R though, must qualify as the least 'PH' car. It has many undesirable characteristics: It's reliable, spacious and often equipped with a wheelchair lift in the back. It does not have 'horsepower' or 'acceleration.' It tends not to rust or require weekends spent 'fettling' it. It can go for many years without maintenance or new tyres. It will never be stolen. Nothing ever breaks on them. They are never fitted with LED lights or 'engine maps' or PH stickers.

The 'R' is Suzuki-speak for Recreation. In the Kei-car world this is the utmost accolade. What's not to love? A Wagon R Y reg, with just 33,000 miles can be yours for around 850 of your funny British Pounds.

Yet, PH'ers ignore them, another advantage. A Wagon R will never have been 'ragged' or 'modded.'

It is truly the best car ... in the world.
