Always thought the bellends 'making up' an illegal chavplate such as this should be held equally responsible by way of accessory as the deluded chavplater themselves for such a heinous crime. yes
They don't sell them as legal plates but as "showplates" not for use on the road.

ignoring for a moment the chavplaters we like to laugh at, what is the thinking behind wanting your name/initials/etc on a plate anyway?

Isn't it only a small step from the monogrammed bathrobe or wearing a football shirt with your game on the back (when you don't play football)?

It says mummy told you you're really special and important and that you desperately need everybody to acknowledge that otherwise you'll cry.

A combination of several things.

Insecurity. (no one notices me, but they will now.)
Low self esteem. (need some sort of grand gesture.)
Self importance. ( here comes Mr. DTW! )
Ignorance. (haven't got a clue.)
Self entitlement.
Don't give a sh*t.
'A bit council'. (see the thread for clues.)
'I'm a bit of a geezer.' (Jack the lad.)
Just look at me!

There are others.

Mix and match.

I'm hesitantly putting this here, because the owner is on a forum I frequent and he comes across as a really good bloke.

But, I just can't get my head around spending nearly £100k of your heard earned money on a dream car, then thinking its a good idea to ruin it with a plate like this.

Would a owner of multiple cars who had a series of generic private plates on their cars be considered a plonker?

I don't think so, there's a bloke on here who has loads of consecutive plates and I think they're quite cool.

I can't remember exactly what they are, or who he is, but something like WOP 1, WOP 2, WOP 3 etc.

I think that one's OK. Although I'm only about 5 miles from the border with Essex.

Talking of Plod, after a number of complaints hehe they have recently pulled their weight and finally taken action on a couple of notorious local desperate chavplating miscreants:

NJ HALL red 'Piggot' 205 wrongly spaced and with bastardised 11 in a vain attempt to make 'A'.

S GOFF black chavved up Discovery, wrongly spaced and with bastardised 6 in a vain attempt to make a 'G'.

Both plates are now legally displayed although it remains to be seen how these chavplaters will now cope having withdrawal symptoms from not looking like total deluded sts to everyone but themseves....hehe
