A combination of several things.

Insecurity. (no one notices me, but they will now.)
Low self esteem. (need some sort of grand gesture.)
Self importance. ( here comes Mr. DTW! )
Ignorance. (haven't got a clue.)
Self entitlement.
Don't give a sh*t.
'A bit council'. (see the thread for clues.)
'I'm a bit of a geezer.' (Jack the lad.)
Just look at me!

There are others.

Mix and match.
Sum it up in three letters

You forgot the other reason:

Micropenis.

(If the chav plate is on a white 4x4 with gangsta glass we can assume an extreme case of micropenis)

They always remind me of this:

I'd say the plate is the best thing about it - that is truly hideous.

Clearing out the clutter on a memory card has turned up these pictures...

Sad Muppet.

Unsure about this one. Made me smile, but technically incorrectly spaced so submitting here.

rofl Twunt!

Anyone spotting the theme here, with "aspirational" Premium Brand German lease-mobiles? Not deliberate on my part, either. I try to snap any and all crappy plates, regardless of the car they're on, and these are in chronological order, as taken with nothing omitted.

This next batch are from the pub that just keeps on giving...

'Premium' 4x4 with crappy plate? I'll take two please. This one...

...and this one. Kiss, kiss, kiss! wink

To complete the 'three-in-a-row' was this ML250. But the other two cretins made this one look 'real good' by comparison.

Yup, you're right. Rather suspecting this myself and monumentally bored a while ago I went through the entire thread and at the time over half of all Chavplated cars posted were Mercedes with a quite startlingly high representation of other Tutonic Uberwagons, Range Rovers and girly fashion victim cars making up the rest. That matches up pretty well with daily Chavplate spots here in the Essex Badlands and is of course totally out of proportion with the actual number of these particular cars on the road compared to everything else.

Evidence enough then to affirm these particular brands are the weapons of choice for an aspirational Chav and that's the best reason of all I can think of for not even being seen in one let alone owning any of them myself.
