Maybe not a bad plate in it's own right but maybe somewhat controversial. SS 1 on a Porsche 911 Carrera.
Well, it was issued a long time before it had any negative associations (1904) and I think it is long enough now that it is just a grate plate. Not sure I would have driven around with it forty or fifty years ago though...

Whenever I see "SS" and it's motoring related, my first thought is of the Swallow Sidecar Company, and it's founders, the Williams, Walmsley & Lyons. And beautiful pre-war cars like this...

I saw a BMW M6 on the motorway a few days ago whose numberplate was

V1O F U

Maybe I'm getting old, but I found that a little offensive.

(apologies for the plate being on it's own line but I had to get creative with the formatting to show the spacing)

Depends, maybe the sentiment is aimed at greenies at his work that have told him to cut his carbon emissions and ride a bike.

A V12 diesel minicab. Nope, never seen one of those before... smile

More evidence I guess that it's not always an illegal numberplate demonstrating that Mercedes are frequently the delusional Chav's weapon of choice.
