What exactly is so awful about that?
Apart from the "Oooooooo" exclamation at the end of the plate, I'm fairly certain, from when I owned mine a few years ago, Lotus called it an Exige not an Exsige getmecoat

A couple of spots courtesy of my mum.

E A11EN'S / EA11 ENS on an MPV (possibly Honda). Fantastic use of a black cap to create the apostrophe rolleyes

A Google search suggests RegPlates.com are currently trying to sell it on behalf of a customer at the moment - a bargain at £2516 inc fees for a bastardised plate laugh I'm still not sure whether the bdisation is meant to reflect "Allen's" or "Aliens" tbh.

X 20E X V (or Y) on a BMW 3 series. Bonus points for "Kissy Kiss Zoe" having her plate in both a bold & italic font. Edit - and also for their plate not appearing to show up on the .gov checker under BMW.

To me it's no more worrying than, say, someone posting a picture of their engine bay. I personally wouldn't, but to each their own. Anyone complaining about these things whilst modifying their own car in any way strikes me as massively hypocritical.

I guess that is the internet.

Oh and ELD 923T, cringe biggrin

Somewhere in Hertfordshire or Berkshire on the way home today I spotted Zorro. Well, he used to be Zorro, but I think he put the sword and the mask away when he retired...

X 20RRO - BMW X3

The '2' was messed about with to better resemble the 'Z' he soooo badly wanted.rolleyes

yes Exactly that. How else could you view anybody so overwhelmed by their own narcissistic self importance and delusions of grandeur that they are quite willing to break the law to attract attention to themselves by displaying a illegally formatted numberplate?

The illegal plate itself is almost immaterial - it's the fkck the law I'll do whatever I choose mindset the plate represents that's the real problem.

The REAL problem... rofl

So are mis-spaced number plates a gateway crime to further dastardly deeds?

This is only a real problem to a certain type of person.

Even the police turn a blind eye to it most of the time.

Who cares about some letters and numbers on strangers car FFS?

Do you think the police 'turn a blind eye' because they think it's ok and doesn't really matter? Or because they don't have the resources to deal with it?

Go ahead, change my mind then. I'm all ears.

If you can come up with a more rational explanation why anybody would deliberately and very publicly stick two fingers up at the law for nothing more than satisfying their own ego needs and over developed sense of personal vanity I'd love to hear it.

I guess you never;

  • speed
  • modify your car in any way
  • ever park illegally
The link between someone putting a weirdly spaced plate on a vehicle and serious crime is tenuous. I am sure that bloke with Exige is hardly plotting to hold up the local building society with a 'shooter' biggrin

Yep, very seriously indeed.....biggrin:

But putting it into context, not seriously enough to be anywhere remotely near the required level of excessive narcissism, self importance, delusion, vanity or general knobbishness shown by illegal chavplaters who, as Jaguar S quite rightly points out, are prepared to constantly break the law to satisfy their own delusions of 'grandeur'....hehe

And another one, so with your vast array of 'look at me' cars you never, ever drive 'enthusiastically' to satisfy your own personal selfish needs? Of course, you do man. You are all far too concerned with what everyone else is doing!

Get a grip.

I'm not making any links and what's speeding, modifying or illegal parking got to do with illegal numberplates or serious crime anyway?

The point is you have to be of a certain attitude of mind to display an illegal numberplate. That attitude confirms to me the Platee is either ignorant of the law or arrogant in thinking they can choose to disregard it if it suits them. What else can it be? Ignorance and arrogance - there's really nothing attractive in either especially when relating to facts defined in law.

Taking into consideration the expense of buying a plate with the intention of displaying it illegally in the first place and all the attendant disadvantages of risking random FPNs and MOT failures when done so somebody would logically only display a illegal plate if they place more value on satisfying their own vanity than they do on just complying with requirements and thereby avoiding all the potential hassle.

That is all. Unless you can prove me wrong... smile
